This iteration of the Dodge Grand Caravan is better than the model it replaced. Despite some notable new features, though, it hadn't risen to the level needed to compete against better rivals. Safety features include standard stability control and curtain airbags. A blind-spot detection system is also available as an option. It’s a good find if you can locate one equipped with the feature.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Drives just as well with a full load. Very glad I got the big engine."

Robert P., OR (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"accelerates very effectively as i enter the highway. very rapidly attains highway speeds."

J M., MA (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"seats are comfortable on long trips, I like the 6 speed transmission, the way it shifts. the acceleration is great"

Roger W., PA (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"The turning radius is AMAZING! It handles very nicely for its size and dimension. It is significantly underpowered when full. The acceleration is sluggish. I have driven other mini vans with much better acceleration and transmission shifts."

Anonymous, TN (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"very good, with good tires handles road well"

Anonymous, QC (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"My van is eight years almost nine and runs just as well as the day I bought it almost seven years ago. Every now and then the transmission with shift harder up or down. But for the most part this van is still pretty sharp. Handles great in snow."

Anonymous, MI (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"The turning radius is amazing! It handles well on the road. Acceleration is fine when carrying 1 or 2 people, however, when fully loaded it is underpowered. Improvements to the transmission and cruise control should be a part of new models."

Anonymous, TN (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"The 4 litre engine is great on acceleration the handing is tight and firm but the ride is still smooth."

Anonymous, ON (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"The 3.8L engine is adequate for the van. The van handles very well around corners and in parking lots."

Wanda M., FL (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"When I have a full load, it still handles and accelerates very, very well. Braking is, of course, extended, but very reliable."

Robert P., OR (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"gas mileage"

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"The ride in this vehicle has always been disappointing based on our experiences with four previous Dodge Grand Caravans. This vehicle has a harsh and noisy ride unlike any of our previous models."

Anonymous, OH (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Drivers seat is wonderful. The cabin noise is unnecessarily loud, from the road noise and wind. The overall ride is comfortable."

Anonymous, TN (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Stiff seats completed with a rough riding suppension system makes for uncomfortable, long trip."

Anonymous, ON (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"The seats are not as comfortable as the ones in the 1999 Grand Caravan, also the road noise is a bit noiser."

Anonymous, TN (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Ease of entry, excellent ride and interior comfort"

Anonymous, ON (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"The seats are quite comfortable especially the driver's seat. The cabin noise is unpleasantly loud. The ride is comfortable."

Anonymous, TN (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"It has been modified into a handicapped vehicle for a wheelchair."

Anonymous, FL (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"seats are very uncomfable always a wind noise while driving. sounds like an open window"

Anonymous, AL (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Love the power driver seat and the fold down mid and rear seats. This is a great car for long travels as rides smoothly with DVR screens for grandson. When I use it around town, I fold down the unused seats and make it my "pickup" - can put a 4x8 sheet inside the van."

Carl H., OH (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"The seats are roomy and comfortable. The noise level was very good with the original tires. With this last set of tires, the noise level is higher and you can feel more of the bumps in the road. Also strong winds make a hum in the van. Maybe do to the age of the vehicle."

Anonymous, KS (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"I thoroughly enjoy driving my Dodge Caravan in reference to seat comfoart and leg space. However, there is greater than desired cabin noise from the operation of the vehicle."

Richard T., WI (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"One of the most comfortable vehicles for long distances that I've ever owned (from Porches to a VW Rabbit). The seats fit well, great ease entering and exiting the vehicle, and the ride is extremely smooth."

Jean D., WA (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Not enough adjustments on drivers seat for comfort. Glove compartment pops open by itself."

Anonymous, SD (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"The interior finish quality is cheap looking. I had an older model of this van and it had more features and a lot better made, a more solid vehicle and fewer problems."

Anonymous, ON (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"the car has had numerous problems since we bought it and we don't expect to buy another Chrysler/Dodge again."

Anonymous, NY (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"It will haul full sheets of plywood (I make a lot of bookcases). With a trailer package, it will carry over a ton of books (I own a bookshop), and still handles and drives very well."

Robert P., OR (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"We bought it at the end of the model year, so the dealer was motivated to get inventory off the lot. The stow-n-go seating has made many road trips much easier, and add a lot of value to the Dodge product. That being said, I think had I paid more for it, given the relatively weak engine, I would have been more disappointed."

Jeffrey R., ID (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"this is my work truck for my bookshop. Any number of times I have had over a ton of books in my van, and the Dodge handles the load with absolutely no problem (I ordered it with the trailer package). When I am building shelves or doing repairs, it hauls full sheets of 4x8' plywood, as well as a load of lumber. It has been a great vehicle for my business."

Robert P., OR (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Grand Caravan SXT was great value for the money. I was able to multi-screen video with 2 DVD players for the kids. This made long trips very enjoyable."

Wanda M., FL (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Our 8 year old van only has 72000 Klm. of local & hiway driving on it & after 4 new tires, new battery, new brakes, one new wheel bearing, new starter along with continued regular service, continued no rusting, we expect to continue to enjoy the versatility of the stow & go seating, with all the electrical power conveniences for at least 3 more years, without a major expense. Of course if we win the lottery we will be purchasing the new Pacifica van. Our repairs began to surface gradually after the 5 year purchase plan was completed. We look at those repair costs as a continuation of a smaller monthly payment cost to protect the vehicles performance & contrbute to the low mileage trade in value!"

R P., ON (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"Good value"

Anonymous, IL (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"The 4.0 liter engine does not recommend regular grade fuel. Therefor our fuel costs typically are approximately 10% higher than regular gas. The new car salesman at Don Davis Chrysler Dodge lied about using regular gas and I will never return to that dealership as a result."

Joseph S., TX (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)

"The van is 8 years old and still drives like new. It has been very reliable."

Roger B., MI (2010 Dodge Grand Caravan)
