2015 Ford F-250 Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
This version of the F-250 Super Duty has many strong points. The Ford-built Powerstroke 6.4-liter turbodiesel V8 got the best fuel economy among the heavy-duty diesel trucks of its day, while providing plenty of towing and payload-hauling capability. Cabin space is generous, with a large backseat and abundant storage. Nice features abound, including an optional tailgate step and built-in switches for accessories.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Hugh R., MT (2015 Ford F-250)

"Diesel has great power and torque"

Donald S., NC (2015 Ford F-250)

"Great acceleration and towing ability from this twin turbo diesel"

Tommy L., TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"Lots of acceleration power when needed"

Anonymous, IL (2015 Ford F-250)

"Good acceleration, resume on cruise is too quick handling is great"

Anonymous, GA (2015 Ford F-250)

"It drive like a dream, again probably better than a Cadillac. Only drawback (necessary evil) is that is is huge, like trying to park a boat."

Gainer J., FL (2015 Ford F-250)

"Excellent acceleration"

Frank G., FL (2015 Ford F-250)

"My F-250 has more than adequate power to pull our 32 ft fifth wheel RV. Tows perfectly in my opinion."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"Hot rod level, accelaration, handling, stopping"

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"The 6.7 has lots of power and is very quiet. Cruse control is a must because it's hard to know how fast your going without always looking at your speed control."

Steven F., NC (2015 Ford F-250)

"It is always responsive and tows recreational vehicles very well."

Anonymous, AZ (2015 Ford F-250)

"Was able to pull a 5th wheel no problem while maintaining speeds, no jerking or delays. Smooth ride."

Anonymous, OR (2015 Ford F-250)

"The acceleration is fantastic. Towing a 10,000lbs trailer is a breeze. I am always able to merge with traffic safely and maintain highway speeds on any hill. The handling is a little lazy. Quick maneuvering is not to be expected with this vehicle. Spirited driving while empty reveals a heavy lumbering vehicle with plenty of understeer. The vehicle is more at home while towing. The vehicle overload springs are welcomed when carrying a heavy load but can contribute to unsettling of the rear of the truck if your load is not quite heavy enough to make contact in a static position but does make contact when hitting bumps in the road. The heavy duty overload springs increase spring rate significantly when engaged which does make for a rougher ride. The front suspension on this vehicle feels a little disconnected from the driver and the shifting weight of the front differential can be felt on rough roads (2wd vehicles likely do not have this same issue). The stability management works very well. The off-road capabilities are what you would expect from a truck this heavy. The locking rear differential is a very welcomed feature."

James H., AL (2015 Ford F-250)

"I use this truck to tow a 14,000 pound fifth wheel trailer. The horsepower and torque that the diesel puts out makes towing a heavy load a breeze. I get about 9 miles per gallon towing this heavy load which is very respectable."

Stanley H., CO (2015 Ford F-250)

"Horrible turning ratio. Bad sightlines many blind spots particularly bad sightlines forward over hood. Difficult to judge distance of objects of low height in front of vehicle."

Anonymous, FL (2015 Ford F-250)

"We have driven diesel trucks before and the acceleration has been doggy. This one moves when you hit the gas, very peppy!!"

Anonymous, KS (2015 Ford F-250)

"It's a 6.7 liter diesel. Once it is warmed up, there is plenty of power an excellent acceleration. It tows my 9000 pound trailer like it isn't there. I very much like the tow/haul mode which changes the gear ratios and employs down hill engine braking."

Anonymous, VA (2015 Ford F-250)

"Occasional acceleration lag due to exhaust cleaning"

WILLIAM M., OR (2015 Ford F-250)

"Sometimes pulls abruptly to the left when braking & they can't duplicate it."

HUGH C., GA (2015 Ford F-250)

"We tow a fifth wheel RV and it drives and handles very well on the road, up hills and in curves."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"Delayed acceleration when passing vehicles."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"I get 19 MPG driving on the highway solo. I get 9 MPG pulling a 14,000 pound Fifth Wheel trailer. For a big diesel, I consider this to be excellent."

STANLEY H., CO (2015 Ford F-250)

"We use this F250 XLT 4x4 short box crew-cab truck with 6.2L gas engine primarily to tow our 32' OAL bumper-pull travel trailer, 9000 lb loaded. We replaced a very nice 2008 King Ranch F350 Ford 4x4 6.4 diesel with this truck after an unfortunate issue with water in the diesel fuel. We knew the 6.2L would not pull as well as the diesel, but even in the Rocky Mountains where we live with our 8000' mountain passes we are happy with the performance. This truck has the 10,000 lb GVW package, Fires"

GLENN W., ID (2015 Ford F-250)

"Electric throttle terrible. In the handling department, it's like driving a big rubber ball."

Anonymous, ME (2015 Ford F-250)

"I tow a fifth wheel RV travel trailer and this F-250 pulls it efforlessly."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"Turbo kicks in rapidly and vehicle has great torque to pull trailers. Handles like a truck."

Robert F., CA (2015 Ford F-250)

"We had a Chevrolet truck but our Ford King Ranch had more pickup on acceleration and was easier to drive. The King Ranch package was quieter riding and the truck was more like driving a car."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Chairs are nice for larger people ... more leg room for tall people"

Anonymous, OR (2015 Ford F-250)

"Very comfortable, probably better than a Cadillac! Seat cool or heat. Quiet ride."

Gainer J., FL (2015 Ford F-250)

"very lousy cruise control adjustment, controls:back seat won't fold flat. Plastic tailgate cover is a lousy design."

Roger V., OR (2015 Ford F-250)

"Very comfortable. Like the hated and cooled leather seats"

Tommy L., TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"The seats in this truck are very comfortable. I am 6’3‿ and there is plenty of leg room. The ability to change seat height and pedal position accommodates my wife at 5’4‿ as well. This vehicle is the vehicle of choice on road long trips. While the ride is firm, it is not particularly fatiguing even after a 30 hour trip. The engine noise is barely noticeable at highway speeds. The wind noise is prevalent especially in storms while traveling at top highway speeds. Tire noise can be heard so tire choice is critical if you want a queit ride."

James H., AL (2015 Ford F-250)

"Comfortable seats that are adjusting"

Anonymous, AZ (2015 Ford F-250)

"Since it is a 4 wheel drive truck, it is a little rough while driving on rough roads. On normal roads, it is more comfortable than most cars that I have ridden in. It's roomy, the seats are really comfortable and sitting up high gives you a better view especially on long trips."

Anonymous, LA (2015 Ford F-250)

"Passenger seat foot rest area is blocked somewhat by transmission hump. Very uncomfortable for long drives."

Anonymous, TN (2015 Ford F-250)

"Ride is a bit rough, especially if the load is light"

Lars R., TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"Great back support and the seats make driving a pleasure."

Steven F., NC (2015 Ford F-250)

"Very little road or truck noise, seats are "all day'ers"."

Donald S., NC (2015 Ford F-250)

"Very stiff and rough ride."

Anonymous, NY (2015 Ford F-250)

"Excellent driving position. The ride is excellent, for a large vehicle. The ride is very quiet. Commanding view of the road."

Anonymous, NY (2015 Ford F-250)

"Extremely comfortable, very little noticeable noise"

Anonymous, GA (2015 Ford F-250)

"The truck is almost unacceptably noise if the wind is blowing outside"

Anonymous, AZ (2015 Ford F-250)

"Drivers Seat stitching started coming apart near head rest."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"The seats are not heated, I thought they were."

Anonymous, NS (2015 Ford F-250)

"Auto seat settings, heated and cooled seats. Driver seat automatically backs when you turn off the ignition and returns when you insert the ignition key."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"The truck is very comfortable and smooth riding especially for a truck. Well built"

Anonymous, IL (2015 Ford F-250)

"This is our first truck. I was a little surprised at the rough ride and stiff suspension. But maybe this is just a "truck thing?""

MARTHA C., NY (2015 Ford F-250)

"There was a rubbing/squeaking noise in the driver side door. It took me two trips to different dealerships to resolve. Also, the rear seat belts have to be buckled to keep from slapping the side post and making a lot of noise"

JOHN B., TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"Seats are somewhat uncomfortable on long drives"

Anonymous, AZ (2015 Ford F-250)

"Very stiff rough ride. Seat not that comfortable. Seat belts very uncomfortable."

Anonymous, NY (2015 Ford F-250)

"Seats are comfortable, smooth ride, and very little noise in vehicle"

Robert F., CA (2015 Ford F-250)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Great performance and features for the price"

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"Got it at a decent price"

Frank G., FL (2015 Ford F-250)

"Bought it to haul slide-in camper, it does this so well that we did an 8000+ mile trip across the US shortly after purchase. The F-250 Super Duty did everything I asked of it."

Hugh R., MT (2015 Ford F-250)

"It's a basically equipped truck but it does what I want from it."

Michael S., MD (2015 Ford F-250)

"I personally think all vehicles especially trucks are way over priced. Thank you obama. Bailing these companies out just raised the prices on not only on trucks but all vehicles 200%. These companies were bailed out and are now passing that cost on to the consumer by asking ridiculous prices for vehicles. Many people the same or more for a vehicle than they do on their homes. Absolutley out of control."

KEVIN S., PA (2015 Ford F-250)

"It is a great work truck"

JOHN C., MA (2015 Ford F-250)

"Found out later I could have had a diesel version for very little more"

Anonymous, NS (2015 Ford F-250)

"Excellent truck with lots of power. No mac handicap problems."

Anonymous, TN (2015 Ford F-250)

"The gas mileage is worse than the salesman said it would be!!"

JERRY D., OR (2015 Ford F-250)

"Price too high - probably due to demand"

Gregory F., MI (2015 Ford F-250)

"The pickup gets about nine miles to the gallon, which is much less than the salesperson lead me to believe"

Jerry D., OR (2015 Ford F-250)

"Bought the F-250 new and it has been trouble free."

Anonymous, TX (2015 Ford F-250)

"Works like a Swiss clock"

Ronald F., TN (2015 Ford F-250)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"Looks better than the competition"

ROBERT M., PA (2015 Ford F-250)

"Great style, but bad placement of seat controls. The can be bumped when leaning into the truck causing seat to move"

Anonymous, TN (2015 Ford F-250)

"For the price we paid the truck is too utilitarian, no style, no extra comfort, the seats are only just comfortable. not anything special. the dash is very generic, nothing upgraded."

LINDA H., AZ (2015 Ford F-250)

"I love the look of the vehicle. It sets it apart from all other heavy duty trucks. All of my clients love the truck."

MARK E., GA (2015 Ford F-250)
