While the Flex's unique looks divide our staff, we all found it extremely practical. It's effortless to hop in and out and drives more like a car than a traditional SUV. The 355-hp engine in our high-trim version delivers effortless power and palatable fuel economy. It rides comfortably and is quiet. Handling is secure. The second-row seats afford limousine-like stretch-out room.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Greg S., CA (2012 Ford Flex)

"Acceleration is slow."

Kendra L., OH (2012 Ford Flex)

"The 3.5 Ecoboost motor still impresses at 100,000 miles - acceleration to 60 is about 6 seconds, and can be done in the rain thanks to AWD. For a large vehicle - this is basically a 3 row SUV - it hustles and handles. Cornering is excellent for this class of vehicle and passing power is instantaneous. The brakes need to be upgraded - they have warped due to heavy use before. Overall, we have no complaints - the only major repair at 98000+ miles has been brake pads/rotors on all four corne..."

"excellent both"

Anonymous, NY (2012 Ford Flex)

"I love this car too noisy at speeds over 60 mph"

Mark M., FL (2012 Ford Flex)

"Our Flex at nearly 100,000 miles has held up very well. The seat are still supportive and have held up well to 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog. We are just starting to get some wind noise as the weather stripping is becoming compacted, and the rubber bushings are staring to harden, which is not surprising in the TX heat after nearly 6 years of ownership, so a little more road noise than normal enters the cabin. We also have the Ecoboost version which has slightly stiffer springs and dampers, and..."

David D., TX (2012 Ford Flex)

"Overall it's a comfortable car. The middle seat in the center row is the only one that my family complains about. We took this on a road trip three days after we bought it and hit five national parks and six states in ten days. It worked great for us other than that middle seat and the ratcheting seat belt which kept engaging even if they didn't pull it all the way out."

Darryn H., WA (2012 Ford Flex)

"most comfortable, best driving and riding car I have ever owned"

Anonymous, VA (2012 Ford Flex)
