This redesigned SUV is a twin of the Chevrolet Suburban, which had more agile handling in our testing and better steering and brakes than its predecessor. The ride is supple and controlled. Interior quality and seat comfort are much improved. The Yukon XL can seat up to nine but typical models seat seven.

    Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

    Driving Experience

    Includes acceleration and handling

    What Owners Say

"the vehicle drives exceptionally well at about 65 mph. At that speed it gets about 18 miles to the gallon."

ALFRED G., KY (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

"I have noticed that during evening driving the headlights will blink or dim then go back to normal at random times - driving at 35 MPH or pulling in the driveway. Vehicle will sometimes lock by itself whether keys are in the ignition with engine off or not."

DENNIS C., ID (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

"Nicely powered vehicle with excellent acceleration and driver feedback from the road. Can drive this vehicle for hours without getting tired. The bad side is the engine will burn a bit of oil, 1qt in 2K miles, less if driving underload or in mountains of NY or PA. GMC won't fix it unless it is under warranty, and only after doing an extensive "oil consumption" test. It was an issue with ring to cylinder tolerance that was introduced with an manufacturing improvement that ended up causing blow-by"

Anonymous, NC (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

"Requires constant regular maintenance to uphold driving integrity"

Robert P., NJ (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

    "Quiet ride and sure handling"

James P., MI (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

"Had to replace 6.2 engine at 106000 miles."

Anonymous, SD (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

    "Good power in engine.6.2 L"

Anonymous, WI (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

    Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

    What Owners Say

    "Good leather power seats"

ALFRED G., KY (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

"Seats bottoms are uncomfortable after 9 hours of continuous driving - seem hard ( the are leather and fully adjustable). Since new there has been an warble like sound on the right passenger side, front, between 35 and 75 mph.No vibration or shimmy. New tires didn't make it go away dealer thought it was my empty roof rack cross bars or my hood bug shield which I didn't agree with. Still have it with 45,000 + miles."

DENNIS C., ID (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

    "very roomy"

JERRY H., PA (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

"Seats very comfy and the ride is stable, smooth, and quiet."

HARRY B., IN (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

"Seats seem to get more uncomfortable as the car and myself get older. Leather on driver’s seat is showing wear."

Dennis C., ID (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

"Comfortable seating and quiet ride and sure handling"

James P., MI (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

JOHN H., LA (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

    "Over all an excellent suv"

LARRY P., AZ (2007 GMC Yukon XL)

"This is a very good looking vehicle. Black with tinted windows looks like a limo. There's a reason dignitaries and presidents have these for transportation (besides they can carry all the armor plating)."

Owner-satisfaction Ratings are determined by the percentage of those who answered "definitely yes" to the question asked by the Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey "Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had to do it all over again?". If we don’t have sufficient data, a similar model might be used to form the owner-satisfaction score.
