What Owners Say
"The in car entertainment system assumes I want to play my apple music, which I rarely do. Frequently I switch to sirius xm or fm and it switches back to apple music. Causes more of a distraction than it was to resolve. Additionally on the interface (non apple play) the buttons are hard push when in a travelling car in traffic, again making it more of a distraction than old fashion knobs."
Robert C., CA (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"During apple car play navigation, music from an Ipod playlist would start after every nav insruction"
Anonymous, CA (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Just clunky! Sometimes it does, sometimes it does not"
John S., NY (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"backup camera became dislodged from the rear and stopped providing clear video of backing up. Even though the vehicle was still under warrenty Honda initially insisted it was not covered. They relented and fixed for free."
Anonymous, NY (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Back up camera came loose, causing darker video."
Richard P., MI (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The backup camera became dislodged from its mount and the mount had to be replaced"

Anonymous, ON (2016 Honda Accord Unsure 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The display for the backup camera blacked out over a period of time. For a while it seemed to have bad signal quality, then the link seemed to cut out completely. By my eye, it would seem that an analog connector somewhere got disconnected (vibration, maybe?). Whatever the cause, the Honda technicians at the dealer said it would cost a fairly large amount to fix, and we do know how to use our rear view mirrors, so we're not interested in fixing it at this time. It was somewhat disappointing that that system would 1) fail fairly early into the life of the vehicle, 2) not be covered automatically through certified pre-ownership, and 3) not have some more intelligent form of debugging than "we're going to throw that part out and put a new one in, so you have to buy a new part", given that I watched it die gradually and it really looked exactly like the sort of problem I would expect to see if a VGA cable was slowly wiggling its way out of a connector. As I did the debugging through my wife who is somewhat less aggressive and somewhat less electrically inclined than I am, I didn't confront the dealer like this at the time."
Anonymous, NY (2016 Honda Accord Unsure 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The backup camera, the physical camera itself, is held in place by a plastic clip. The clip broke, but Honda won't sell you just the clip. You have to buy the entire camera assembly, including the camera for $$$."
Anonymous, NC (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"Camera just quit working one day. Called dealership to have it looked at but did not feel like paying $129 just to look at it and then have to pay repair cost. Waiting until I have the money to fix it."
Anonymous, FL (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"This happens quite often when starting the car. Most of the time I have to pull over, turn the vehicle off than back on again and 90% of the time it works. As for the navigation I quite often get a message that it can't access maps. At this point I just live with it."
William U., NJ (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"If radio station was changed the display did not show it"
Anonymous, OH (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"Phone calls (bluetooth) disconnects frequently & phone calls are dropped and the display screen freezes up. The bluetooth volume is very loud and distracting. Dealer tells me nothing can be done about the high volume. Software was updated, still having frequent problems (daily)"

Karl J., TX (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"display screen goes dark and will come back after a few minutes. Windows and sunroof open on their own at times and a few times car would not start."
Anonymous, OH (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Accord has 2 screens, both go blank about 5 times a month, it was the same problem with my old 2014 Accord. With both cars, the whole system would suddenly stop working requiring full stop, shut off the engine and restart, if you are on the highway, you must take the next exit to do so, very annoying"
Dror A., NY (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"There are places where the current MPG and MPG for this tank are supposed to show up - on occasion (probably once every 2 months) these are blank. Just an annoyance."
Michael R., MD (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Honda dealership has had to factory reset the in-dash infotainment screen twice now- stopped working for no apparent reason. Car itself was fully functional, but did lose the backup camera when the display was not working"
Anonymous, FL (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"All screen access goes dead. So no audio, Navi, phone Bluetooth, radio, backup camera"
Anonymous, ON (2016 Honda Accord Touring 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"This problem has existed for several years and can be fixed by rebooting when you restart the car. The problem cannot be replicated by a Honda professional, so they can try to troubleshoot it only if it is taken to the dealer without turning off the engine--not always convenient, and the first time I did this nobody with the appropriate training was at work. The next time, they decided what new component was needed, and they asked me to pay $100 good-faith because the vehicle was out of warranty (component and labor cost many times that amount which they wrote off). The repair worked fine for a while, and then it decided to play the same game, and of course I had another appointment. When this happens the radio and other audio components do not function and the screen fails to display some important information. I'm waiting for the next time it happens, with hope that I won't be on my way to something important. Now I am wondering if it is somehow triggered by extremes in temperature."

Anonymous, ND (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Syncing GPS on phone with Bluetooth. Can't consistently get voice directions. Adding a new phone was very difficult. I had my first phone added by a technician at the dealer and even he had difficulty. Hands free is often distracting and I can't always answer calls without picking up my phone. Not a user friendly system"

"Where to," is extremely difficult to use. Old system of 2012 model much simpler to use and accurate. Had to order paper manual which also is of little help"
Anonymous, CT (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"it's worthless. Biggest problem is that it doesn't remember where it was parked. Thus, it takes 3-10 minutes after you start the car for the satellites to figure out where you are and hence where to go"
Bob R., WA (2016 Honda Accord EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Kept losing satellite. Dealer replaced antenna"
Anonymous, MA (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"Extremely difficult to adjust voice level of the GPS"
Joel N., FL (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"1. Honda's touch system is almost impossible for the passenger to use as there is no control dial (as in a BMW iDrive). Difficult using touch screen while car is in motion, even for something as simple as the volume control on radio. 2. Honda dealer (before sale) told us the car has Garmin navigation system. New destination addresses can be entered into Garmin units at any time. Honda instead locks out entry of a new address, placing the driver and passengers in danger by requiring them to pull over to the side of the freeway and place the car in park, at which time an address can be added to the route. Makes the unit unacceptable. Honda has no interest in resolving this, but they should provide a software update and FIX IT. Also, three months after applying a map update given by Honda, Nav system gives cannot unlock maps error message every time car is driven. Pressing OK makes the message go away, and unit opens the old map. Honda provides no support for this problem. DO YOU KNOW A GOOD ATTORNEY INTERESTED IN CLASS ACTION?"

I especially have difficulty syncing my phone GPS with Bluetooth. Can't get the voice directions. Also just got new phone and found it very hard to add it. Originally the dealer had to do it. Other problem: Twice all the warning lights came on indicating every possible problem! Had to take it to dealer both times ( computer problem) and eventually they had to reset the system as advised by Honda headquar"
Elizabeth S., MA (2016 Honda Accord 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The voice command system stopped recognizing my voice despite having the same phone. At the dealership, they deleted my phone from the car memory and we re-paired the phone with the car. So far, this has worked"
Anonymous, AZ (2016 Honda Accord LX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Using voice commands to make a call only works 50% of the time. And with that, only 50% of the calls that go through go to the car speaker. The other half you have to hit TRANSFER on the screen while the person on the other end is screaming "Hello?""
Renee W., CA (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"Apple Car Play would sometimes pair the phone, other times would not. When Apple Car Play did not work, Bluetooth did not always pair the phone either. If I don't plug in Apple Car Play, Bluetooth will not always work. Sometimes the whole system would not work. Would see Tuner is not working which meant the electronic system did not work; radio, etc."

Anonymous, (2016 Honda Accord LX 3.5-L V6)"Very difficult to operate. Disconnects from Bluetooth often"
Anonymous, LA (2016 Honda Accord Touring 3.5-L V6)"The bluetooth device will no show up to connect most of the time. Sometimes in suddenly connects after up to an hour. I can answer the call and it will still be ringing in the car, while the caller can hear the ringing. It won't always hang-up or disconnect, or has a mind of it's own as to when it will disconnect. Service always says that they can't duplicate the problem, even with video's we've taken showing the problems. The problem started when purchased, however we were constantly told that it was just our cell phone (which we've since replaced and still have the same problem) because theirs worked fine. It can go a month or so of 0 connection and then work fine for a few days/weeks and then we're back where we started. The top screen doesn't always light up or show the control button changes being made below. The bluetooth will tell me that my phone bluetooth is not turned on, however it's the car device that is not engaging."

Anonymous, NC (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5-L V6)"The software for the infotainment system is crap all around! Sporadic error message Tunner (sic) has stopped working will display, and then the entire system is unusable -- radio, bluetooth, etc. Factory reset doesn't consistently fix it. Nor does turning the car off & on again. It will just randomly fix itself. I have the current software, according to the dealer."

Anonymous, GA (2016 Honda Accord EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The User Interface in this radio system is truly poor. Lack of rotary volume control knob is the number one issue. This slider systems is crap. Too many screens to simply switch from AM to FM is another. On other cars like the Chevy Cruze, you have soft buttons that can actually choose AM or FM stations directly. Not on this car. It takes 5 steps to switch from one bluetooth (my wifes) phone to mine. In my 2011 Accord I could do that with one voice command. Although touchscreens are defa"

Even when it does recognize my voice, it never correctly recognizes the name of an entry in my Contacts. It usually comes up with multiple names - most of which don't sound anything like what I said.
