What Owners Say
"Three times we have gone to the dealer because the AC does not work. If there is a leak in the compressor, they will probably not fix it until the car is no longer under warranty"
Mark J., NY (2012 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"There is a noise that emanates from the compressor at low rpms then goes away. Honda tells me it's not a problem"

Jean G., CA (2012 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"A/C Compressor failed and required replacement under warranty"
Anonymous, MD (2012 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Problem started in the summer of 2018. The AC works well until the temperature reaches about 95 degrees; then it stops cooling. It starts working again when the outside temperature drops. We have had it worked on twice, thought it was fixed, both times the problem recurred. We live in an area where the outside temperature rarely gets that high, so it's not usually a problem, and also very hard to diagnose. The service advisor says "the Honda climate control system is extremely complex and difficult to trouble-shoot.""

Anonymous, WA (2012 Honda CR-V 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Every spring since purchasing the CRV we have taken the car back to the Honda dealer in Hempstead, NY to fix our air conditioner because it was blowing hot air. For five years we took the car back sometimes two and three times per season. They gave us all kinds of reasons why the system kept losing refrigerant, and many times they claimed they had no idea what was wrong with the air conditioner. Last year we even took the car to a different Honda dealer in Huntington, NY. The Huntington dealer charged us close to $200. to refill the refrigerant, yet claimed they saw no leak. We spoke to our regular mechanic who immediately knew it was probably the evaporator core. He told us that the part was not expensive, but the labor to replace the part would be costly. When our heater core stopped working in December 2017, our mechanic told us the evaporator core was right next to the heater core so he would check for leaks. Sure enough he found plenty of leaks in the evaporator core, replaced it and gave us the original. I am so dissappointed in the deception that Honda exhibited to us in the last six years. They sold us a car with a bumper to bumper warranty, yet refused to honor it when needed."
