What Owners Say
"The vehicle does lots of short trips, and despite our best efforts (rather than driving kilometers out of the way on the way to work and the way home) the brake calipers seize or leak."
Lee W., ON (2014 Hyundai Elantra GT 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"Short distance, stop and go driving"
Anonymous, NY (2014 Hyundai Elantra Unsure 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"I should have addressed the issue sooner rather than later, it may not have cost as much."
Debra R., TX (2014 Hyundai Elantra 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"Driving SLOWLY on an icy street with at least 8 car lengths of stopping "room" ahead of me, car failed to stop by applying emergency brake. 2nd problem: wheels are big, tires are thin-snow stays in the wheel wells and brakes can't work. Car not good"
Anonymous, MA (2014 Hyundai Elantra Limited 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"Some kind of recall on a switch on the brake. nothing major. I had no problem"
Anonymous, TX (2014 Hyundai Elantra Limited 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"replaced front rotors and pads before 35000"
Anonymous, MD (2014 Hyundai Elantra Limited 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"The brakes wear out too fast"
Laura P., NJ (2014 Hyundai Elantra SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"Brake rotors seem to rust prematurely"
Don D., (2014 Hyundai Elantra Limited 2.0-L 4 Cyl)"They wear out too fast"
Laura P., NJ (2014 Hyundai Elantra SE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"When the brakes are applied, you hear the straining of metal on metal. We have had the vehicle in to the dealer twice for this but the problem still exists. The brakes work fine but the noise is disconcerting."
Anonymous, (2014 Hyundai Elantra Unsure 1.8-L 4 Cyl)"front wheel was squealing caused by brake problem"
Anonymous, TN (2014 Hyundai Elantra GT 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
"The calipers seized on my car. One on the front driver's side and the other on the rear driver's side. This led to a failure of the anti-lock brake system in the winter in slippery conditions. I narrowly avoided an accident. It's interesting that these calipers are not serviceable. Maybe the calipers would not have seized with such low mileage on them in the first place. Brakes are pretty basic and simple in design. Their failure so early on is very disconcerting."
