The Q70 sedan is very quick, with a lively 330-hp V6 and a smooth seven-speed automatic that returned 21-mpg overall in our tests. A V8 and a V6 hybrid are also available. But the transition between electric and gas mode in the hybrid is too abrupt. Handling is quite agile, with communicative steering. The firm ride is compliant but trails the competition in terms of plushness.

"I think it could be a computer problem. The engine and transmission are not always in sync. At lowers speeds the transmission is in a higher gear than it should be. When accelerating the car does not pick up speed bas it should and if I switch to manual transmission it will be in 4th or 5th when it should be in 2nd or 3rd. I have talked to Infiniti about this problem and they can't find anything wrong. I did own a M35X for five years and it was the best car I ever owned, that's why I got the Q70..."
