The Wrangler has entered the modern era, with more creature comforts, updated safety gear, and an available four-door model. Its off-road performance is very impressive. While on-road ride, handling, and refinement are improved, they are still not competitive.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

What Owners Say

"This is the most under powered vehicle i have ever owned."

Anonymous, AB (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"I love the way the jeep drives in the summer and especially in the winter in snow and on ice."

Debra R., AB (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"Would like a little more power."

Curtis W., AZ (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

Anonymous, CA (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"The 2007 Jeep Wrangler has poor handling characteristics and lacks in power, but handling and power are not reasons why people purchase this vehicle."

Larry C., CA (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"Typical for all wranglers, the acceleration is lacking, and the handling is a bit loose."

Larry C., CA (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"Own a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. To say that the engine is gutless is to give it too much credit. Slow to accelerate. At times dangerous to pass another vehicle. A vehicle this heavy needed at least 300 bhp. 205 bhp gives you neither good acceleration nor good economy."

Barbara F., AZ (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"It handles so well, it doesn't feel like a Jeep. We can drive through dips and bumps without worrying about bottoming out."

Anonymous, AZ (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"I LOVE my wrangler. It is the most fun driving vehicle I have ever owned. I have had multiple bmws Lexus lrange rovers and porches and the Jeep is the only one I would 100% buy again. So much more fun than any other car I have ever driven. I choose to drive it over either of our bmws or our Lexus. My family members agree and beg to drive it. Driving should be fun, not boring, and the Jeep is the most fun vehicle available. Especially in the summer with top and doors off."

Anonymous, TN (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"A fun vehicle, and little more power would be nice. With the right tires it handles like a sports car, almost."

WALLACE K., FL (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"The wrangler needs more horsepower for highway driving. But it is awesome in bad weather, goes thru the worst snow, ice or water problems easily."

ENRICO B., NJ (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"Drives like a truck. Handles bad roads, gravel and dirt roads, snow with predictability and ease. Pulls a small boat and occasional work trailer. No sweat. Good gearing, plenty of power. Tight turning circle. Climbs walls."

Anonymous, OH (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"Exceptionaly hard on gas"

JEAN-MARC L., QC (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"The Jeep Wrangler is very under powered with the 3.IL, 205 hp engine. Difficulty pulling even the slightest of grades. Electronic throttle slow to react leading to constant stalling. Still issues with fuel burping out of fuel filler."

BARBARA F., AZ (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"Low power, poor transmission"

JAMES S., WY (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"3.8L engine is very under powered, acceleration terrible"

Anonymous, TN (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"You don't buy a jeep because you want the ride of a luxury car, you buy it for the fun factor."

Curtis W., AZ (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"the seats are uncomfortable and the ride is rough"

Anonymous, MD (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"Noisy not soundproof hardtop. It comes unsealed at speed and makes more noise."

Kent H., TX (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"Seats are very poor and no heating and cooling for rear seats."

MARK L., CO (2007 Jeep Wrangler)

"Extremely difficult to enter the rear seat. The front seats do not fold down allowing entry into the rear."

Anonymous, MS (2007 Jeep Wrangler)
