What Owners Say
"This is really not Jeep's fault. I placed larger wheels and tires on my Jeep. My Jeep has a V6 engine, therefore, the V6 has a little bit of a hard time giving my Jeep a decent acceleration. Looking back, I would have purchased the V8 option."
Anonymous, NC (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"This Wrangler was our mid life crisis vehicle, first 4X4 vehicle and our first non Ford in 25 years. We purchased it because we always wanted a 4X4 and jeeps are considered the crem-dela-crem in this field with the Wrangler Rubicon being the top of the "stock" models. With that said comparison to what I am used to is unfair. On the highway: Compared to our C-Max hybrid it is loud and rough. Compared to my F150 it is loose and a little loud. Compared to my F350 Diesel it is a really nice ride. It"
Anonymous, AZ (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"Typical jeep, very slow acceleration poor emergency handling, must take turns slowly, my jeep is a 2 dr version. With all terrain tires the ride is actually not too bad, put on off road tires and ride is terrible. Braking is okay, but could be much shorter stopping distance."
SUSAN H., TX (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"Handling is jittery. Car is all over the road. Acceleration is also mediocre at best. Fatiguing to drive it on longer trips."
VES L., ON (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"poor handling...great offload, but poor on highway"
REX C., NH (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"Weak on acceleration at times, handling is sometimes mushy due to larger after market tires. Turning ratio is excellent"
TERRI J., CA (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"The car handles well, especially off-road, which is a major reason we bought this vehicle. However, even with the new engine it feels somewhat underpowered, though it performs satisfactorily, even hauling a trailer that is near the weight limit. Please qualify this comment by the factor that I have driven a 2004 Dodge Durango with a Hemi engine for the past 11 years and have been spoiled by its power."
SHEILA L., MI (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"I love driving manual, and there are less and less options on the market. The Wrangler is just a lot of fun, not a sensible choice but I do plenty of those regardless."
Anonymous, TX (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"The acceleration lagged directly from the factory, so I added an aftermarket device called "Pedal Commander" which connects between the accelerator and the onboard computer. Now my response is extremely responsive."
Michael H., MI (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"Excellent acceleration"
William B., FL (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"It is great to go off road!"
W H., MD (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"Seats are narrow and hard top leaks."
Anonymous, NJ (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"It is a very capable vehicle that inspires confidence but it is not a long-distance highway cruiser. It has a firm, truck-like ride that I like but is not for everybody."
Deanne N., KY (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"Love the looks both inside and out."
Anonymous, NJ (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"I enjoy driving it. I am aware CR is not impressed by this vehicle, but people dot buy Wranglers for comfort, but for usefullness."
Chris M., MA (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"The Jeep is an iconic vehicle that is utilitarian in design and execution. While fun to drive, the term exhilarating does not come to mind. The acceleration leaves the driver wanting a bit more power. The rear seats should be pitched back another 15 a 20 degrees to enhance comfort."
Anonymous, NJ (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"It’s really fine. I would really have preferred more standard horsepower out of the gate for acceleration purposes. It makes entering traffic easier and it helps with smooth manual transmission shifting."
Anonymous, MD (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"Great acceleration and all around fun to drive."
Anonymous, MD (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"View of the road, acceleration."
Kathryn M., PA (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"excellent pickup speed for passing. Handling is great for small turning radius to get out of tight spots"
Ronald B., MI (2016 Jeep Wrangler)"Jeep drives well. It’s a manual transmission. Has good exceleration. The boxy design means it’s it tougher in the wind"
Anonymous, NY (2016 Jeep Wrangler)
"The drive is smooth, doesn't feel bumpy."
Connie S., TX (2016 Jeep Wrangler)
