The ES330 provides one of the most quiet and comfortable driving experiences in the class. We like its smooth powertrain, impressive fit and finish, and fairly roomy interior. The then-new 3.3-liter V6 engine slightly improved acceleration and fuel economy over its predecessor. The ES scored very well in both government and insurance-industry crash tests.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Owner Satisfaction with:

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"low speed acceleration has a dead zone - a powerless lag that the dealership is unable to fix"

Anonymous, ON (2006 Lexus ES)

"Handling is not firm enough"

Barry E., TX (2006 Lexus ES)

"The acceleration is snappy and gets me on the freeway quickly and safely. Turning radius is great (especially left turn into u-turn). The car is very responsive."

Mary C., CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"It's smooth, comfortable drive. It kicks in when I want it to. She has always handle beautifully and still does. Anyone that has ever ridden with me always comments how comfortable the car is."

Donna H., WA (2006 Lexus ES)

"sluggish to accelerate"

Anonymous, NM (2006 Lexus ES)

"Dependability--one repair (aside from brakes, battery, tires, etc--in 11 years. The alternator started making an odd noise and the dealer replaced it."

Anonymous, TX (2006 Lexus ES)

"Nice power great shifting"

Scott P., MO (2006 Lexus ES)

"This car hauls...... It will out accelerate many of the cars on the road today that are much newer. It's always been this way. For a 12 year old car it is as good as a one year old. It turns smoothly and holds a corner extremely well."

Anonymous, TX (2006 Lexus ES)

"Great acceleration and handles excellent"

Rebecca A., OH (2006 Lexus ES)

"Very smooth ride. Very good shocks as hardly feel bumps in the road."

Anonymous, ON (2006 Lexus ES)

"Tight handling, solid acceleration"

Bryan M., CT (2006 Lexus ES)

"Very nimble; turning radius is excellent. Ample acceleration"

Jim A., NC (2006 Lexus ES)

"Slow acceleration, handling too loose."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"It is exactly what you would expect. Soft handling but like an old Buick."

Andrew D., CO (2006 Lexus ES)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"the seat comfort is great"

IVAN R., TX (2006 Lexus ES)

"This car is the ultimate road cruiser - no finer creature comforts anywhere."

KEN K., IL (2006 Lexus ES)

"A/c is quite and car gets cold very quickly. Seats and legroom excellent. I'm 6 feet tall, car is quite, Vargas 70000 miles no problems on repairs"

PAMELA K., CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"Wind noise excessisve, haven't changed the Window seals, tho."

WILLIAM A., CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"Essentially my wife's car. When I drive it I do not like the comfort of the seat or the view out of the rear window."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"heated leather seats, very quiet, climate control is excellent"

LARRY J., CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"Cold air blows through seats"

KLEE B., AZ (2006 Lexus ES)

"Most comfortable and responsive I've ever had--I've owned VWs and Volvos previously."

Anonymous, TX (2006 Lexus ES)

"The ride is very quiet and smooth, the seat(s) are very very comfortable as they adjust to any body."

Mary C., CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"The problem is with the electronics. A third of the rear defroster fales. A left turn signal that keeps triggering a warning light on the dash. Wiggle it and it stops. The sunroof. The only way to be sure it's closed is to close it from full open, not from vent. Closing from vent it rattles, jerks and I'm afraid it won't close fully."

Allan J., NC (2006 Lexus ES)

"support"

Anonymous, CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"all is smooth & quiet"

Jerry A., PA (2006 Lexus ES)

"very quiet"

Anonymous, NM (2006 Lexus ES)

"Great leather seats.Love the heated and cooled sitting area."

"Excellent comfort for a car 11 years old. No rattles or shakes."

Rebecca A., OH (2006 Lexus ES)

"I like the high seats and good visibility."

Anonymous, WA (2006 Lexus ES)

"wife feels safe in it & likes the showoff factor of a lexus"

Jerry A., PA (2006 Lexus ES)

"Smooth, quiet ride. Very comfortable seats with good lumbar and leg support."

Anonymous, TX (2006 Lexus ES)

"Great support...good controls to get it "just right""

Bryan M., CT (2006 Lexus ES)

"Amazingly quiet and smooth ride that feels much the same at 120k miles as it did at 20k. Even at highway speeds I can hear music details. Drivers seat is not as comfortable as my old Acura, but it is not terrible."

Andrew D., CO (2006 Lexus ES)

"Very comfortable and very low noise level riding."

K T., CA (2006 Lexus ES)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Car is very expensive to buy, but is worth the difference. I would rather pay a Toyota price for Lexus quality and comfort."

PAMELA K., CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"low maintence, very good value for the money. still runs well 190000 miles and 11 yrs old"

Anonymous, GA (2006 Lexus ES)

"For what the Lexus cost new, could have purchased Camry and saved money. Cost of repairs has cost thousands. When a unit has only 95K miles and has cost you over $10,000 in repairs (does not include routine maintenance) that is not qualify unit. Lexus repair costs are higher on average than standard Toyota products."

PAUL C., TX (2006 Lexus ES)

"Dependability. Great service centers. We keep our cars as long as they are transporting us safely and reliably."

Anonymous, CA (2006 Lexus ES)

"Bought auto in September 2006 and got 20% off sticker price plus free upgraded wheels. Bought from auto broker."
