The Lexus LS flagship comes in a regular length and a long-wheelbase L version. Its V8 is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission -- the first ever in a passenger car. Other options include a precollision system with radar-based cruise control, a 19-speaker stereo with an eight-gigabyte hard drive, cooled rear storage, a reclining rear seat with massage, leg rests and rear seat heaters.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Owner Satisfaction with:

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Good"

Ron E., TX (2010 Lexus LS)

"Extremely good acceleration for such a large, heavy sedan. The 360 HP engine moves and accelerates very quickly. 8-speed transmission works very well and provides excellent highway mileage of approximately 25-26 mpg."

Anonymous, MD (2010 Lexus LS)

"smooth and quiet"

Anonymous, CA (2010 Lexus LS)

"The car has the power, but the driving experience is a bit stodgy and lumbering."

Anonymous, CA (2010 Lexus LS)

"The 8 speed transmission with the V8 engine provides more than ample smooth acceleration. Handling is quick, precise, and tight."

Louis H., CO (2010 Lexus LS)

"all great."

Anonymous, ND (2010 Lexus LS)

"The car is responsive and nimble even thou a large car"

Anonymous, FL (2010 Lexus LS)

"Excellent acceleration, handling and comfort"

Anonymous, NJ (2010 Lexus LS)

"Handles well for a big car except in snowy conditions where it really needs snow tires to be competent."

Anonymous, VA (2010 Lexus LS)

"Same as newer one"

Anonymous, LA (2010 Lexus LS)

"Plenty of power for all situations, responsive handling and firm braking."

Anonymous, TX (2010 Lexus LS)

"This is our 6th LS and they are all great road cars. We take regular long driving trips in this car and it is always very reliable and gets great mileage on the road, close to 28 MPG. My only complaint about the LS is that it uses up a battery every 2 and 1/2 years."

Anonymous, TX (2010 Lexus LS)

"Outstanding acceleration and all wheel drive excellent in snow and rain"

Paul E., OH (2010 Lexus LS)

"The acceleration is outstanding when passing vehicles. There is plenty of reserve power. The handling at all speeds is very responsive and natural feeling."

David K., IA (2010 Lexus LS)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Being a big guy (6'4", 240 lbs) I just fit perfectly in the seats. The controls are easy to use and give me the exact seating I want and need."

David K., IA (2010 Lexus LS)

"Still rides extremely well and very quiet. However there is a rattle it appears in the braking system."

Curtis E., MS (2010 Lexus LS)

"comfortable and adjustable seats"

Anonymous, CA (2010 Lexus LS)

"Seats and driver door armrest are not designed for seniors like my self with bad knees and back. The armrest on the front doors interior does not support the weight of an individual to use the armest as an assistance in leaving the vehicle in a tight parking space. The flat part of the armrest failed and I had to replace the driver side door panel at a cost of over $3000.00 for parts and labor. The trunk gasket failed as it tore from luggage and golf bags being slid over the gasket. Vehicle was advertised and marketed to handle four golf bags. They will fit, but you cannot remove them without dragging them across the gasket. Overall the LS 460L was marketed and advertised as a luxury vehicle. I purchased it after owning a Phaeton, 2 S500 Mercedes, and a Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Compared to my previous vehicles, the comfort and durability of the body features falls far below my expectations. With the double pane door glass the wind noise is and has been excessive compared to my previous vehicles. The mechanical aspects of the L460L are head and shoulders above my previous vehicles mentioned above. No complaints at all regarding the power train. There is not a new Lexus in my future with the current style (all look like a Toyota from the front or a concept for a futuristic combine harvester) and I do not want a Toyota."

Charles M., TX (2010 Lexus LS)

"Wonderfully comfortable"

Anonymous, DC (2010 Lexus LS)

"Very comfortable ride!"

Anonymous, ND (2010 Lexus LS)

"In late 2016 all of the non-leather interior materials (plastic, faux leather, etc.) began to get sticky and some actually melted. The dealer said it was a large problem for Lexus in hot climates. The proceeded to replace all such parts at no cost to us. Nasty problem but well handled with no arguments."

Jerry G., FL (2010 Lexus LS)

"Very smooth ride, very quiet inside noises, comfortable seats with many controls, roomed back seat of all cars I have driven."

Anonymous, NJ (2010 Lexus LS)

"Very comfortable for a 6'4" driver. Plenty of legroom and head room. Quiet ride. Good lumbar support."

Anonymous, MD (2010 Lexus LS)

"Seats are very comfortable, good support. It is very quiet and has a very smooth ride."

Malloy H., MD (2010 Lexus LS)

"Quiet smooth ride"

Ron E., TX (2010 Lexus LS)

"Quite, comfortable, and great climate control."

DONALD M., KS (2010 Lexus LS)

"Noisier than I think it should be. Radio etc hard to hear on concrete pavement"

ROBIN H., CA (2010 Lexus LS)

"Front and rear seats are comfortable - many adjustments, heated and cooled. VERY quiet with smooth ride in three positions - sport, regular, and comfort. Ability to adjust the height when going over rough roads or speed bumps."

KEN S., MD (2010 Lexus LS)

"The ride is exceptionally smooth, and can be adjusted for three different comfort levels. The seats are fully adjustable and can be either heated or cooled. Lexus has done an outstanding job at keeping road noise out."

David K., IA (2010 Lexus LS)

"Quiet, smooth ride, ease of handling."

Anonymous, TX (2010 Lexus LS)

"Suspension rattles and bounces like a truck, spent over $6k in repairs and replacement parts with only marginal improvement. As a previous owner of three Lexus vehicles, this 2010 Lexus is not up to traditional Lexus standards."

Timothy M., TN (2010 Lexus LS)

"These are the most comfortable seats I've ever used, supporting my back and legs perfectly."

Anonymous, WA (2010 Lexus LS)

"A great ride. Love it!"

Anonymous, ND (2010 Lexus LS)
