The Mazda3 is among the most well-rounded models in the small car category. It is quieter, rides more comfortably, and is more agile and fuel efficient than its Protegé predeccesor. Moreover, it returned very impressive fuel economy, especially for a conventional gasoline-powered vehicle with an automatic transmission. The Madza3's very good interior quality stands out in a category where many vehicles are cheaply finished.

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

"The car is just fun to drive in town. Enough acceleration to merge and very precise handling.. The only complaint I have is on icy roads."

DEANNE I., ND (2007 Mazda 3)

"The car amazes me every day how fast it can go when needed and how the handling is superb and equal to a BMW handling."

MICHAEL G., IN (2007 Mazda 3)

"feels like the car and my hand are one. great control and response."

CINDY G., MD (2007 Mazda 3)

WILLIAM W., NJ (2007 Mazda 3)

"For a 2.0L manual stick shift, acceleration and handling is FUN"

ISAAK M., CA (2007 Mazda 3)

"I love how this car drives, accelerates and the.turning radius is awesome. The problem - this car Stinks in any kind of precipitation. Even just rain and this car spins tires. I have tried several different kinds of tires. Don't even ask about snow, just park it. Also, the road noise is bad. I have had two sets of tires do the cupping and it ruins the tires and road noise is unbearable in the back seat."

Anonymous, VA (2007 Mazda 3)

"The car is very nimble and quick. steering is very responsive and sure. turning radius is excellent. It is fun to drive."

CHARLES A., OR (2007 Mazda 3)

"Fun to drive, good handling. Good lines and shape."

Anonymous, AB (2007 Mazda 3)

"I love driving the car. It's fun to drive because it handles so nicely."

Anonymous, MN (2007 Mazda 3)

"It has a lot of pep for a small car, which makes it safer when merging on the freeway or changing lanes."

Anonymous, WA (2007 Mazda 3)

"The 2.0 engine is responsive off the line. It will hold any speed you want on the highway and actually feels better the faster you go. Since power is better above 3000 rpms, 80+ mph fells really good. It is electronically governed for a top speed of 118 mph. The steering and shock calibrations make the car feel extremely stable and rock solid. My daughter has a Toyota Corolla and it is night and day. This feels like a low priced BMW 3 series without the power. Gas mileage can get to the m"

Anonymous, VA (2007 Mazda 3)

"My wife is the primary driver of the 2007 Mazda and she and I both enjoy the acceleration and handling of the Mazda 3."

Anonymous, QC (2007 Mazda 3)

"Visibility is quite poor, location of head restraints makes rear viewing difficult"

GRAHAM H., BC (2007 Mazda 3)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Air conditioner makes loud noise when the pump is running"

Anonymous, AB (2007 Mazda 3)

"Would like more aability to control the firection of the air flow."

Anonymous, NC (2007 Mazda 3)

"The AC blower needs a speed between 2 and 3. 2 is to low and 3 is too high in many instances."

Anonymous, TX (2007 Mazda 3)

"Road noise too loud."

Anonymous, FL (2007 Mazda 3)

"Love the car. Only negative is relatively high road noise. However, it improved with new Michelin Privacy tires. The ride / handling is perfect for me and I love to drive. The car has been dead reliable for almost 10 years."

Anonymous, VA (2007 Mazda 3)

"At the time I bought the car electronic seat adjustments were not available,"

Anonymous, BC (2007 Mazda 3)

"The seats are comfortable. The driving position is good. At highway speeds, there is more noise than I'd like. Only other problem worth mentioning is visibility -- not as good as I'd like"

JAY S., NM (2007 Mazda 3)

"the only issue I have is road noise"

ROSS S., SK (2007 Mazda 3)

"I've had the Mazda3 for nearly ten years, and as I've gotten older, I'm less tolerant of the smallness and firmness of the car. I'm aging out of cars of this ilk."

Anonymous, NC (2007 Mazda 3)

"Comfortable seats in front, a bit tight in back. Excellent handling, fun to drive, but noisy at highway speeds."

Anonymous, TX (2007 Mazda 3)

"It's comfortable enough once you get into it. But you have to squeeze & drop to get into the seats. And it requires a little effort to get back out."

Anonymous, WA (2007 Mazda 3)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"It has been a great car, starts even in the coldest weather. The breaking and fast pick up for passing on narrow roads is impressive. I was not happy to go to the dealers with a patch of rust under the hatchback window and they told me it was 1 month passed warranty on paint and they would't pay to fix it. I have since found out that this was a problem for 06-08's. due to the straight bottom of the window."

JO-ANN M., PE (2007 Mazda 3)

"The car handles like an expensive sports car, has smooth acceleration and is great fun to drive. Although I would enjoy it better with more power, I had opted for the smaller motor and get 40mpg highway so NO complaints. Best car I ever owned."

STEVE L., NY (2007 Mazda 3)

"I believe I got a lot more safety features on this car vs. other cars most closely like it, for a better price. And the gas mileage is solidly what Mazda said it would be. It's been a really economical car over the years, and holds up extremely well."

Anonymous, MN (2007 Mazda 3)

"Buying Mazdas can be difficult. Dealerships do NOT play well together. To buy the blue manual transmission with sunroof that I wanted, I had to fly from Dayton, Ohio to Minneapolis, MN, buy it there (once we convinced them on the phone that I can buy a car myself, without my husband present), and drive it home. It's a little scary that I'm that stubborn. But I know what I want in a car. They shouldn't make it difficult to give people what they want. But since I got the car, I adore it, so I cons"

JEANETTE W., OH (2007 Mazda 3)

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"I bought the car new. It is still in style and looks similar to the 2016 models."

BURT M., OR (2007 Mazda 3)

"I have the red color and after I wash it I still have people tell me how classy my car looks. They can't believe that it is 9 years old."

DEANNE I., ND (2007 Mazda 3)

"for an almost 10 year old vehicle styling remains relevant, and can blend in with newer models"

ISAAK M., CA (2007 Mazda 3)
