The Miata is a fun-to-drive, low-slung little roadster, with pinpoint handling, instant power delivery, and a crisp manual gearbox. Excellent fuel economy is an extra bonus. While it remains very tight, the cabin has grown a little more livable over the years. The ride is surprisingly tolerable, but cabin noise can grow wearying on long cruises.

"Seats need more lumbar support. They're fine for short trips, but my back will be aching after a trip if an hour or more. Also, road noise is significant, particularly on certain types of asphalt. Noise level at highway speeds are high enough that stereo needs to be cranked up to hear it."

"The Miata is a fine little roadster. Is is very peppy and agile. I have owned it for 3 years and it has been trouble free. Its retractable hard top is an engineering marvel and its 6-speed auto transmission is better smooth. . However, it rides roughly and it's lack of modern safety technology is troubling to me. I really miss a good backup camera and a nav system."
