2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
The C300 Sport is a capable car and was more competitively priced than the 2001-2007 model it replaces. Quick and refined, braking performance is excellent, but the steering is overly light and feels out of place in a sport sedan. The taut suspension translates into a stiffer ride than many competing models.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Gregory K., KY (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"It handles quite well, but is a bit sluggish in acceleration. Not a huge deal, but the BMW accelerates far faster."

Paige A., WA (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"Great power for a 6 cylinder engine."

Francis G., PA (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"Very responsive and hugs the road. 4Matic drive superb in snow."

Anonymous, BC (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"solid v6 quick and capable."

Anonymous, MA (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"Engine is well-mated to the auto transmission and the manual down-shifting is smooth; I felt like a race driver. Initially, I found the car under powered but I was just being easy on the vehicle. If you press down on the accelerator, it responds quickly. I rarely press it over 3000 rpm but it redlines at 7000 so there is lots of reserve."

Peter V., BC (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Cockpit adjusts 'intimately" with two different drivers. Easy adjust mirrors, seats, seatbelts."

Anonymous, CA (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"Seats are very comfortable. The car engine, transmission and chassis feel very tight and reassuring when driving. Car has been very reliable requiring only routine maintenance"

Anonymous, NJ (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"Rear seating area cramped."

JOHN G., CA (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"The seats are very comfortable and easy to adjust. There is also little noise and the ride is very smooth"

Anonymous, OH (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"Great drive. Sporty and fun to drive. Still looks great after 11 years"

Margaret A., NY (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"The seats are decent - not great, not bad. Low noise level is excellent. The ride can be a bit harsh. I expected a softer ride from a Mercedes, but it is the sport model so it does handle reasonably well."

Anonymous, CA (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"very quiet with a smooth ride."

Richard B., MN (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"Most comfortable car to drive and sit in that I have ever owned. No other car that i have traveled in in the past several years comes close."

Anonymous, MA (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"nice cruising machine"

Anonymous, MA (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"Seats are the most comfortable I've ever experienced in a car, especially for longer trips. Firm and supportive with and excellent material (MBTex)."

James B., CA (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"Too much road noise, seats not very comfortable"

Andrew M., ME (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"This vehicle, while old and in a minor crash before I bought it, is like a living room inside. The seats and bolsters are very comfortable and even when putting the vehicle through its paces (such as on a Mercedes-Benz rendez-vous), the engine and transmission were great from a comfort and performance point of view."

Peter V., BC (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"I bought the car from a dealer as a CPO. Got a good price on the two year old car at the time. The car performs excellent and is of high quality inside and outside. No mechanical problems to date and only requires regular maintenance. Weak points are the low profile tires and winter pot holes where it is easy to bend the rims."

Anonymous, NJ (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)

"The dashboard controls were plastic and the paint wore off quickly. It was very obvious since the interior is black and the plastic is white. The chrome plastic trim on the cupholder cracked and cut my wifes hand just reaching for the cup. Interior was cheap."

CHARLES C., FL (2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class)
