The midsized Cayenne is one of the most agile SUVs on the market. It packs genuine Porsche DNA into its driving characteristics with communicative steering and responsive brakes that feel direct and precise. Even when it's asked to carve its way around a racetrack, the Cayenne remains in its element. And yet, it's also a luxurious and functional SUV with ample passenger and cargo room.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"Great torque, so great acceleration for a diesel, none of the past drawbacks for a diesel. fuel consumption is fantastically low. Handling is great, makes this the Porsche of SUV's !"

GEOFFREY S., FL (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"The handling is excellent. Looks are fantastic."

Anonymous, VA (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"The car is the best handling car we have ever driven. The only thing they should provide is more storage space within the car and better cup holders"

Anonymous, IL (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"The total handling of this vehicle - no sway when going through roundabouts, acceleration, audio. What I don't like is the fact that I have experienced (and many other owners have experienced the same) a slight hesitation of approx 10 seconds when acceleration from a stop, not always but at least 7 times in the 5 months I have owned the vehicle. Porsche service informed me that other owners have experienced the same since 2004. Why in the world has Porsche not addressed this problem. If I'm"

Anonymous, IN (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Amazing handling and balance in any type of weather or road conditions"

GARY C., ON (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Diesel has lots of torque for freeway merge. acceleration for high speed passing on 2 lane roads not as good as a gas engine."

John M., MA (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Road holding ability is exceptional."

Anonymous, FL (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Very powerful v8 engine helps outrun trouble, such as that car you didn't see while you're turning left into traffic and need to get vout of the way, quickly. The adaptive cruise control will stop the car without me braking, when a farm truck pulled onto the road just ahead of me. The car went from 70 to 20 by itself , as traffic was heavy and this happened so fast i never got a chance to react. Saved my life."

Anonymous, OR (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"trul1y outstanding"

Deane P., FL (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"excellent handling"

M L., UT (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"This SUV accelerates and handles far better than any other SUV I've driven. It was the main deciding point for me, since I was unhappy with the passing performance and cornering feel of at least three other brands I test drove besides this one."

Anonymous, NE (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"For an SUV, very car-like."

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Great high performance SUV. Some issues that should not happen at 128K price tag"

Anonymous, CT (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Fabulous acceleration and driving. Quiet and superb fuel economy"

Anonymous, IN (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"This is the best vehicle I have ever owned, great torque provides the power to pass on mountain highways and pull an enclosed trailer hauling another car, handling and comfort is like a premium luxury sedan. Mileage is amazing, around 27 in the city and about 33 on highways. No other vehicle I have ever driven brings excellent levels of comfort, power and mileage. That said, it will be seen what the California and federal regulators will force that will impact performance and power, due to the d..."

"See prior comments on the 2015 Cayenne"

Anonymous, MA (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"High tork give good exceleration"

Bill G., CO (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Outstanding on both counts. Exceptional for a nearly 5000 lb vehicle."

Roger M., OR (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Love the way it handles! Great! SUV on steroids! Thank you Porsche (GTS model)."

Anonymous, AL (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"I was worried about the transition from electric to gas power, and vice versa, but that is not an issue - the transition is smooth and mostly not noticeable. Acceleration from a full stop is not the best, but since most of my driving is in the city it's not an issue for me. Handling on the open road is outstanding - I feel like the vehicle has a good grip on the highway and it handles curves with minimal sway and roll. I feel safe when I'm driving this vehicle!"

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Easy controls to set temp, seat positions. Ride is very good on long trips."

CHARLES C., CA (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Very comfortable"

Anonymous, IN (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Very comfortable seats, good driving position."

Robert P., IL (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"very comfortable for longer trips"

John M., MA (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Seats fit me. Excellent back support. After 6-8 hrs i am not stiff or sore when exiting the vehicle."

Anonymous, OR (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"The variable air suspension."

Anonymous, FL (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"It's extremely quiet inside at any speed. Which is surprising given that it's a sports SUV and has a diesel engine. The ride is slightly harsh, but I'm happy to make that trade-off because the handling is so much better than any other SUV. Interior is comfortable for long periods of time."

Anonymous, NE (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Great road car for long trips. Comfortable seats, quit and good ride."

Robert P., IL (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"This is by far the most comfortable vehicle I have owned. The 16 way adjustable seats with 2 memory settings let me tweak all the touch points to achieve the most comfort. I find that I take the quality experience inside the car for granted - that is until I ride in some else's SUV. That's when I'm reminded that my ride is smooth and quiet. I especially like the adjustable ride settings that can give more comfort, or more of a sport feel. Overall a dream to drive an ride."

Anonymous, MD (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"This is simply the greatest vehicle I have ever owned. It does everything to an excellent standard. Comfort is equal to a oremium luxury sedan. Controls are intuitive and easy to use. Ride is smooth and car like. SeTs can be adjusted for maximum comfort. Folding rear seats provide great space for hauling larger items, adding to the overall utility of the vehicle."

Mark D., AZ (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"I love the performance as is and will be greatly disappointed if it diminishes when the emissions are corrected."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Comments here mirror the ones for the 2015 Cayenne diesel. In fact, we liked this one so much we ordered a 2016 to be a second one - which was stop-sale'd after the build due to the dieselgate mess. So we immediately bought the 2015 off ebay."

Anonymous, MA (2013 Porsche Cayenne)

"Have the GTS model which draws many compliments on looks and quality of both interior and exterior. Difficult to use term "value" for a luxuary vehicle."

Roger M., OR (2013 Porsche Cayenne)
