The Outback wagon has long been a popular all-wheel-drive alternative to a small SUV, especially for those living in more northern climes. It's a very practical package, with great visibility, a roomy back seat and a spacious cargo hold. Fuel economy is a class-leading 24 mpg overall. The four-cylinder version has long been impressive, but the Outback isn't exactly a pleasure to drive.

What Owners Say

"Rough handling on the highway"

ROBERT V., MT (2013 Subaru Outback)

"loves the highway. Downside - after 30,00 miles got a flat that couldn't be fixed and because Subaru said so I had to buy 4 tires. Those Dunlap tires from a goodyear dealer suck."

ARTHUR W., NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The full-time AWD is great on rainy days because you don't have to wait for the tires to spin and cause the traction control to kick in. It just accelerates without tire spin. The car is also excellent in snow. The continuously variable transmission works perfectly, but is too noisy."

J F., MD (2013 Subaru Outback)

"transmission lags when floored--potentially dangerous in an emergency"

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Poor steering feedback"

PHILIP R., MD (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Compared with driving around home, this car gets greater mpg the faster it goes. I was surprised that when driving highway speeds over a 1000 mile trip, with another passenger and all of our travelling gear, it averaged about 31 mpg!"

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"No power with 4 cylinder engine. Whines under heavy throttle and goes nowhere. Loud engine noise"

CRAIG M., OH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The accellerator is a little balky starting from a dead stop, causing the car to jerk forward a little."

TIM S., AK (2013 Subaru Outback)

"This Outback has the Boxer 6 engine. Power to merge into traffic and accelerate quickly with great visibility. The anti slip features in winter really work. While driving in snow, the rear of the car started to swing out in a skid, the car quickly corrected itself. I was just amazed."

PAUL P., NH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Solid handling. Great in the rain and on wet streets. No slipping or fishtail. Very glad I got the bigger engine. Air conditioning stays on even on steep hills. Acceleration adequate."

SANDRA A., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The handling of the car is excellent in all weather and road conditions."

STEVE T., MI (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Had in twice for steering wandering out of lane. Constantly correcting at 60 MPH or more.Had alignment done twice. Dealer says nothing wrong"

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Subaru Outback)

"When I have stopped, using my left foot on the brake, and then put my right foot on the accelerator, the car does not readily respond, but creeps along at a slow speed. This has happened many, many times. I have repeatedly gone to the dealer and complained and told them about several times this lack of acceleration has almost caused an accident.. Their reply is the stupidest I have ever heard: "don't use your left foot on the brake." I won't buy a Subaru again and won't recommend it to anyo"

Anonymous, OR (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Not a fan of the CV transmission although it does give better gas mileage."

Anonymous, NH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"the 2.5 liter engine with the CVT just has very little acceleration."

LONNY W., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Very good. Best acceleration"

ROBERT L., NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Highway mileage is better than advertised; I'm getting right at 30 mpg for highway travel up and down the East coast and over the mountains to the Mid-west. I'm not "beat" after a 500 mile day."

Anonymous, VA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Acceleration has a slight delay."

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"This drives and accelerates well."

CINDY S., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The engine during acceleration is too loud, and labored. The CVT transmission is very un-refined, especially in comparison to the 2016 model, which has a huge improvement in this area."

MICHAEL S., IL (2013 Subaru Outback)

"All wheel drive and high clearance are important in the mountains where I live. .Cargo space also helpful for shopping and trips."

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"When the A/C in on, the acceleration is a bit uneven and on the slow side. The steering is a bit heavy."

LENNART R., VA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Acceleration is unimpressive"

JOHN K., ME (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Handles well in snow and rain."

R S., NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"as with all 4 cylendar cars, when in fast traffic and trying to maintain speed, when I need to change lanes, I do not have instant power, there is a lag, causing me to panic for a second til the power kicks in."

Anonymous, TX (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Due to the CVT there is a delay in acceleration. There's also excessive engine braking. Neither are a big problem but they're annoying."

JAMES B., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Handles great on snowy roads"

Anonymous, IA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"very good acceleration and handling"

ALEKSANDR R., OH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Great for driving in snow and ice Very good turning radius"

Anonymous, RI (2013 Subaru Outback)

"the car pulls continually to the right"

L D., NC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Has never handled or rode as well as expected. Owned Honda Odyssey's before this which rode and handled significantly better."

LEE C., NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"6 cylinder very responsive Steering not easy, not as good as Lincoln LS"

Anonymous, PA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Acceleration is sluggish. But the car is great in the snow."

Anonymous, ME (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Has the best all wheel drive system bar none. Drive this in the snow just once and you will buy one."

RON S., WI (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Surprisingly responsive in emergency correction to avoid a four to five second head on crash. Lived to tell about it."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Steering is a bit heavy for someone (like me) with serious shoulder problems, but it is manageable."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The Subaru is very much in touch with the road. Although a very large car, it still feels like a small car when driven."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I wish that I had purchased the bigger engine. Doesn't hold speed well when using cruise control. Speed fall off on even a modest incline."

Anonymous, OH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Not the best acceleration. Rubber band effect when accelerating."

DON M., WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"4 cyl cvt poor acceleration off the line Good acceleration highway"

"ORIGINAL TIRES ARE CRAP"

Anonymous, FL (2013 Subaru Outback)

"CVT not as good as 2016 Crosstrek we own."

Anonymous, ME (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The only draw back on my feeling is that I am used to driving a 6 cylinder and this car is a 4 cylinder. The acceleration is fine but t does not have the same power and feel of my last car. Once at cruising speed, this is a great car."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I got a 6-cylinder, which is a little sluggish and noisy during acceleration. I should have got a V-8."

MICHAEL B., VA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"During one bad snow storm we drove out of driveway without clearing any snow. There was six inches or more of snow and the end of our drive is slightly up hill.We stopped to make sure there was no traffic coming and there was slightly more snow as the plow had been by earlier. The outback had no problem starting to go again at the end of the driveway. When we returned home more snow had fallen and the plow had filled in the top of my driveway with about 18 inches of heavy snow. My wife stopped a"

DAVID J., ON (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Acceleration and handling is good. Noise is low with the 6-cylinder engine."

MICHAEL M., NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Acceleration and handling more than adequate,"

W C., OH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I have experienced sudden acceleration wit this car. The engine surges and when I hit the brakes, the Caria difficult to stop."

ROBERT H., KY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The car will go anywhere under almost any condition."

GLENN C., ON (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Handling in bad weather. Radio good Lu,bar support excellent"

DAGMAR M., VA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"excellent accelaration when getting in onto thruway"

THOMAS B., UT (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Acceleration from stop is SLOW due to small engine and CVT transmission. Handling is a little 'sticky" need frequent small adjustments to keep car from wandering."

Anonymous, SC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I love driving this car, it has incredible handling with the full time all wheel drive. I snow ski and have never been so impressed with how a car handles snow and ice as I am with the Outback. We have the 4-cylinder engine but is has very capable acceleration and engine response. If I ever buy another new car it will be a Subaru."

RICHARD L., WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The AWD makes the ride a bit less smooth than in a regular passenger car, but the extra control in bad weather is worth it."

Anonymous, MA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Electronic power steering causes vehicle to drift a little."

Anonymous, AL (2013 Subaru Outback)

"poor acceleration"

NANCY C., NJ (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The all wheel drive gives excellent control of the vehicle. It feels like you are attached to the road at all times."

W H., SC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Steering is stiff"

BRUCE B., SC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Has the 3.6 engine and is very zippy whenever required Most excellent to drive"

DUANE D., AB (2013 Subaru Outback)

"acceleration only fair , especially in the mountains , but that is the trade off with better gas milage."

JAMES G., CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"This car is superb in snow and icy conditions. I was going up a road with no problem at all while other vehicles, 4wd and AWD, were having all sorts of difficulties. The road was icy with a thin layer of snow on top. It was a slight to moderate incline."

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Steering is NOT effortless. Constantly "working" the steering wheel while highway cruising."

Anonymous, IL (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The Outback handles extremely well in all types of weather. We have been through a couple hard winters with this vehicle and it is the family go to car for all weather conditions. No slips in snow or ice while providing a good comfortable ride."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"My previous car was an Audi A8L. Acceleration from 0 to 60 was 5.2 seconds, need I say more. I am thoroughly satisfied with the Outback, especially for the money invested. My next purchase will be an Forester as it will be easier for the wife while running around in town. We don't really need two full sized vehicles. I had a Forester before in 2009 and was pleased with it."

JOHN C., AB (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The car has a lunging and pulsation in the transmission during acceleration, but the dealer denies any problem."

JEROME B., NC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"When it was new and had the original tires I had to really "drive" it. If I took the direction it was going for granted without my full attention it would swerve about. With new tires from Les Scwab it stopped."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Overall good but road noise is too loud"

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Hi love the CVT transmission Paddle shifting is great The torque in this four-cylinder is great The back seats recline and are very comfortable to ride in over long trips We went on a 7000 mile road trip and got over 30 miles per gallon The Bluetooth sound system is not all that great We use Google maps instead of the navigation system When you do use the navigation system warning us about turns come up late The dealer cost of the 60,000 mile check up is ridiculously high when"

MICHAEL B., IL (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Overall driving and handling"

Anonymous, ON (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Sluggish! In part because of the continous variable transmission."

Anonymous, UT (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Drives well and comfy on the highway. In dash navigation sucks. No updates are available."

BILL S., CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Drives like an old truck. After only a fairly short time behind wheel, wrists and finger joints ache. Driving is the only time that this occurs."

JERRELL W., TX (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The storage, handling and reliability."

TODD P., OR (2013 Subaru Outback)

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Handling on twisty road is excellent."

TATESHI Y., WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Comfortable to drive. Has a good response. Easy to handle."

Anonymous, SC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The outback is somewhat hard to steer. I have very arthritic fingers and it hurts to drive for more than 1/2 hour."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"This era Subaru transmission has, in many if their vehicles, a problem with starting with a jerk from a stop after backing up. My local Subaru vendor has not been able to fix this or has found it to be expensive to fix. The problem is now just at the minor annoyance level and they have washed their hands of fixing it."

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"very loud and rough riding. transmission terrible. brakes noisy and prematurely wear. engine burning oil"

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Acceleration is very poor. About the slowest SUV around. Radio and navigation controls are not very easy to use. Compared to google maps on iPhone controls are poor."

Anonymous, MN (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I have the six-speed manual transmission, which seems a little sluggish."

THOMAS M., TX (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Great handling in water conditions especially with 4 snows."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Acceleration can be hesitant. Handling is great. The vehicle is noisy at highway speeds making it hard to enjoy the radio"

JAMES P., GA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I would buy a 6 cylinder engine next time. Car seems to struggle with hills"

GILBERT J., AZ (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The CVT drive does not respond as quickly as a normal automatic transmission. When pulling out into traffic, if I require sudden acceleration it seems as though it is not in first gear or slow shifting down, dangerous if an unseen semi is bearing down on me.I also drive a 1998 Outback which handles much better than the 2013."

JAMES B., PA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Acceleration is 'meh', but I suppose it is a station wagon. Doesn't have the 'pep' of my '03 Forester (if you can believe it)."

TANI M., ON (2013 Subaru Outback)

"It takes awhile to get use to the CVT (transmission) it "shift" totally different from other vehicles I have driven (i.e. 2004 Honda), no definitive "shift" it kind of just glides from gear to gear during acceleration."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Amazing emergency handling! Can safely swerve at 65mph to avoid errant drivers or road debris."

RICHARD H., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Very well mannered. Gets the job done."

JAMES R., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The steering has a vibration dampener to so front wheel tracking doesn't feed back to steering wheel making steering hard and fatiguing. The electronic parking brake gives warning light and the parking brake locked up and would not release requiring disabling of the system."

PETER L., MI (2013 Subaru Outback)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"Noisy at highway speeds. Headrest pushes my head down towards my chest some."

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The ride is very hard, cloth seats are hard and not comfortable, hard to steer as I'm a senior."

Anonymous, NC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"seats,etc are all excellent"

JOSEPH I., NJ (2013 Subaru Outback)

"As with all subarus the seats are comfortable and adjustable"

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"My lower back aches badly when I ride in this car. The seat heaters help some."

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"my body does not fit these seats, my head is pushed forward by the headrest and I see the floor instead of the road. The seatbelt crosses my neck irritating my neck I have to pull my arm over the seatbelt. My lower back is in a hollow instead of having lumbar support."

Anonymous, TX (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I find it difficult to direct the vents for air conditioning on my face"

JILL S., WI (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Everything is great, the controls are basic for a unit with navigation though. The only bad side is the quality of the OEM tires that come with the Outback. I get better handling and road feel with my winter tires and they are 16" tires with bigger sidewall than the 17" that come standard. That is not acceptable for such a good car."

Anonymous, QC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Sometimes the air conditioning does not cool the car as much as I would like."

Anonymous, IA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Have the all weather system, and love it."

MICHAEL P., CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

Anonymous, MI (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Spacious, comfortable seats, good noise isolation when cruising, leg room"

HIDEKI Y., MN (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Support in seats and ability to adjust excellent"

KAREN K., IL (2013 Subaru Outback)

"There are no useable arm rests for driver. Somewhat more road noise than I am accustom to.."

Anonymous, OH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"a little noisy (wind, road noise on some roads) passenger seats have no height adjustment"

Anonymous, PA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"All is comfortable, the only complaint is it is too noisy."

CHARLES S., NE (2013 Subaru Outback)

"There is a whining noise when I accelerate. I find this somewhat annoying. Otherwise I am satisfied."

CHAROLETTE D., NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I previously had a Honda Civic, and the seats were very comfortable on a long trip. I'm finding out there is no lumbar support in the front seats, and trips are very uncomfortable without an additional pillow."

JOHN K., PA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Excellent seat controls, easy to use, plenty of room for back seat passengers, plenty of cargo space for a family trip."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I had a 20002 Outback prior to my 2013 outback. The seats and interior layout in the 2002 was much more comfortable than the 2013. The arm rest (top of the counsel) is poorly positioned. It is too low and set too far towards the rear. Seats are stiff and hard."

JOHN W., CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Heated Seats!!!"

Anonymous, MN (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Driver's seat lumbar could vary more in terms of extending for more support; and passenger's lumbar support is basically non-existent so I use a inflatable support when a passenger. The headrest also protrudes so I lean forward when riding. Also more variance in seat height as I don't sit high. The smooth ride, higher up but not as high as an SUV, easy exceleration, reliable handling, and standard safety features still make me glad to have the Outback."

Anonymous, SC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Only applies to 2013 version: 1.) Headrest too steeply raked, resulting in very un-ergonomic head position and in headaches. 2.) Dash pushbuttons are not functional, in that driver has to look at them to see what the setting is/would be."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Still has strong outgassing smell after 2 years"

BART D., MA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The learning curve for the map, as well as all screen controls, is quite numb. Quite uni tuitive. Eyesight add-on is fine, works very well. Dual zone heat/air works well."

LARRY F., IL (2013 Subaru Outback)

"There is not air conditioning vents for rear seat passengers"

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Seats are comfortable, fairly quiet, ride is not too harsh"

W C., OH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The ride of the Outback is a bit jittery on uneven roads."

MARK J., WI (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Seats could be more comfortable, and the passenger seat is too low for me."

Anonymous, AZ (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The seats are not as comfortable as that I would like especially on long trips."

BOB J., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The road noise is loud. You have to turn up the radio to cover up the noise."

ANTHONY L., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Road noise and high pitched noise from engine are irritating. Seats could definitely be more comfortable for long trips."

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

Anonymous, SK (2013 Subaru Outback)

"We have traveled from coast to coast in the past year, a couple of times, with our new puppy along, plus luggage, skis, etc. and have found it to be extremely comfortable and pleasurable to drive for long distances. The seating comfort is very good."

DAVID W., MI (2013 Subaru Outback)

"While the road noise, that is particularly bad in Washington - perhaps due to studded tires, is better on this car than our last Subaru, a 2003 Forester, it is still loud enough that using the Bluetooth telephone makes less than good communication."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"When setting the climate control to the floor vents, a lot of air also comes out of the windshield vents. I'm not sure if this is as designed, or if it's broken, but it can make things uncomfortable in the winter."

Anonymous, NC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Seats are not very comfortable on long drive. Also, I do not like the cover for the rear cargo area; to open up the area the cargo cover needs to be removed and stored under the cargo mat."

Anonymous, OH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Has wind noise, Road Noise and hard for me to ride in the right seat, I wear size 16 shoes and have to set side ways because not enough room for my feet. This is my wife's car.. Other than this problems, we like it..."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

JERRELL W., TX (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The seats are exceedingly comfortable, especially on a long ride. The ride is a little noisy, but it isn't a luxury car."

JAMES W., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Feel there is still quite a bit of interior noise in the Subaru -had hoped it would be more quiet like our Buick Enclave"

Anonymous, WI (2013 Subaru Outback)

DOROTHY E., ON (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The ride is a bit harsh."

LENNART R., VA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Road noise, rough ride"

RAYM S., MA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I am surprised at the noise level of the motor. Even the Subaru dealer salesman said that Subaru hasn't been big on creature comforts in the past. It helped that he was honest. It is quiet enough to carry on a conversation, and much quieter than my minivan, just expected much less engine noise."

JILL B., NE (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The climate controls are placed too low, forcing your eyes off the road for longer than it should. A safety factor"

ROBERT J., NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The cup holders are insufficient. The console is small and hard to access. The handling around sharp curves is suspect."

TONY M., MT (2013 Subaru Outback)

"LOTS OF FOOT ROOM, LEG ROOM AND THE SEAT IS LIKE SITTING IN MY RECLINER. WE TOOK A MONTH LONG 10K MILE CROSS COUNTRY VACATION IN MAY AND IT WAS THE MOST COMFORTABLE VEHICLE I EVER OWNED."

KAREN T., MI (2013 Subaru Outback)

"This vehicle never gets stuck, even in a foot of snow. It has enough cargo space for four carry on sized suitcases and a cooler while still closing the privacy cover for urban areas. Seats are very comfortable, even for a shorter person, but my husband complains about the passenger seat (he's tall). The rear seats are extremely comfortable and have a fold down center padded armrest with cupholders. It isn't too large or small, is easy to park , and was under $30K fairly loaded."

"The EyeSight driving and safety convenience system is fantastic. The automated cruise control makes heavy traffic vastly more bearable, highway driving more relaxing, and the auto-braking has avoided fender benders at least twice."

ALAN H., NC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"A bit pricey."

MICHAEL B., VA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Make sure that the oil leaking around the pistons has been resolved. The pistons and/or short block need to be replaced.. There was a class action lawsuit about this."

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Excellent car. Well made, comfortable, reliable in all kinds of weather. My only wish for an improvement is in the gas mileage. A difficult tradeoff with the suspension it has but they are going to have to improve the fuel efficiency and the new hybrids I have looked at seem to deliver modest improvements for a high cost."

JOSHUA R., DC (2013 Subaru Outback)

"6 cylinder good acceleration still gets 27 mpg."

JIM H., NV (2013 Subaru Outback)

"like a station wagon on steroids, rides well, carries a lot of stuff, looks good"

ARTHUR W., NY (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Excellent reliability and resale value."

M P., IL (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Price was acceptable for options/styling and mpg ok. Good room and cargo space. Good radio. Lumbar support good handles well in rain."

DAGMAR M., VA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I thoroughly researched all small SUVs when I purchased this car. I has the best styling (inside and out), comfort, quality of materials, durability, visibility, 4-wheel drive, and other features. I still believe that. Best car for the money in that class."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Really good value for the money. All-weather stability and reliability."

GENE F., VT (2013 Subaru Outback)

"A lot of car for the price, decent fuel economy, generally reliable, unbeatable all-weather capability"

HIDEKI Y., MN (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Decent mpgs for the size of the car"

Anonymous, CT (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Bought the 2013 from the dealer and paid list with very little taken off for the trade-in"

ARTHUR G., NJ (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Great value. Great gas mileage. Great handling"

JILL R., CA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Great value for the cost of the vehicle"

Anonymous, WI (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Good: bought through Costco auto program and received $500 cash card."

DAVID M., OR (2013 Subaru Outback)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"It is a very well laid out interior, one exception is the passenger seat, it tilts back, making the knees higher than your back causing stress on the muscles in your hip area. We have constructed a cushion to change the angle. Subaru should make a passenger seat the tilts up and back to alleviate this problem"

JOHN G., OR (2013 Subaru Outback)

"They restyled the Outback a couple of years ago. It now has the same lines as several other cars from Kia to |BMW. It has lost its distinctive SUV appearance"

Anonymous, ON (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I do not like the styling of the interior! The dash is black while the rest of the interior is tan. I live in the SW and the black dash makes the car very hot in the summer. Also I don't like the looks of the two-tone interior. I almost didn't but the car because of the black dash."

JOHN W., CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Clean, functional styling. Luggage rack crossbars are minimally visible, easy to operate and very secure once in place."

LARRY F., IL (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Comfortable, stylish, & love the in car phone service."

HARVEY O., WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Some shielding from glare is needed on the middle dash instruments. Most days, I am unable to see the time unless I am under an overpass or use my hand to shield the clock. Maybe a bright digital display light would help."

Anonymous, PA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Clean lines and a beautiful color."

BERNARD M., TX (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Not a balanced shape compared to other brands - somehow looks "cheap"/outdated/not well designed."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I don't really like the station wagon look. I almost never get the gas mileage they claimed."

MICHAEL F., PA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"it's OK"

ALEKSANDR R., OH (2013 Subaru Outback)

"The top model had pseudo wood grain trim, that was most unattractive, but was the only model with leather seats. So we chose the next lower model with much more attractive brushed metal trim and had after-market leather seats installed. We used a company known to the dealer and they matched the interior exactly for under $1500 total."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Outback)

"good styling"

STEVE V., NV (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Poorly designed roof rack. Roof rack is not adjustable. Roof rack is ugly. Black plastic cladding on sides is supposed to look "rugged", but just looks fake."

GENE F., VT (2013 Subaru Outback)

"Difficult to get in and out of vehicle. Lack of storage spaces. Road dust accumulates in rear door crevices and difficult to get clean."

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Outback)

"I loke it very much. Rugged look, yet comfortable inside.."
