Anonymous, CA (2005 Toyota Corolla)"A great family car. Small enough for city and big enough for the highway. good acceleration, good braking, nimble handling."
THOMAS M., AL (2005 Toyota Corolla)"I can afford to buy a new car but this car is so much fun to drive, for me, buying a new car is not even a consideration. I think this car may have the engine of the Toyota FX. It has incredible acceleration, & handles beautifully, It hugs the curves, is exceptionally responsive & still takes off "like a bat out of hell". Repairs have been minimal - tires, etc. Nothing else has required repairs."
JANET M., RI (2005 Toyota Corolla)"acceleration for a 4 cyl. is excellent. handling for this old car is quite good."
Anonymous, NV (2005 Toyota Corolla)"drives exceedingly smoothly and accelerates well"
Anonymous, FL (2005 Toyota Corolla)"The acceleration is much better than my '15. It has a conventional transmission."
Anonymous, GA (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Its smooth great acceleration along with great almost effortless handling"
Anonymous, MA (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Decent and predictable overall. Low-speed acceleration seems superior to our six-cylinder SUV. My only complaint is that my arms have to extend uncomfortably far to reach the steering wheel, even though I have short legs, making it fatiguing to drive long distances; the steering wheel cannot adjust far enough back to accommodate me. This factor has been corrected in the 2017-2018 models, but actually prevented me from buying another Corolla a few years ago."
Anonymous, WY (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration is adequate, although not more than that. The handling, including the tightness of the steering, seems to be pretty good."
Eric J., IL (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration and handling are much better than I expected."
Anne Z., NV (2005 Toyota Corolla)"From day one this little car has plenty of get up and go. It has superb handling"
Randall F., AZ (2005 Toyota Corolla)"This is not a sports car. Even with 350,000 km is still is fun to drive. Acceleration is more that adequate for normal highway driving. Car handles well in corners and in all normal driving conditions."
Barry M., ON (2005 Toyota Corolla)"My 2005 Corolla has a better acceleration than my 2016 Corolla. The 2005 model consumes a little more fuel than the 2016."
Andre S., QC (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Good Acceleration and Handling"
Anonymous, IL (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Handles well."
Anonymous, FL (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Very reliable. Drives amazing especially considering 171,000 miles. Stays on the road during winter very well and no complaints with the heater. Did need to recharge my air conditioner and replace air conditioning line but it was quick, easy and affordable fix to have cool air again. I see this car far outlasting my newer 2010 Toyota Corolla."
Anonymous, AK (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration easy and smooth"
Anonymous, AR (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Even with 260000 miles, the car has excellent acceleration and handling."
Ronald K., VA (2005 Toyota Corolla)"The car is fun to drive. It feels lively in response even though it has moderate horsepower."
Anonymous, DE (2005 Toyota Corolla)"269 hp give it the acceleration of many sports sedans, handles very well in all weather conditions, and yet it still manages to get up to 27 mpg in sustained level highway driving."
John M., PA (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration is much more responsive than any previous Toyota."
Anonymous, NS (2005 Toyota Corolla)"It is lower to the ground than must vehicles on our roads where SUVs and pick-ups dominate. It is only 4 cylinders but is adequate"
Anonymous, AZ (2005 Toyota Corolla)"The car is very secure and dependable."
Anonymous, NC (2005 Toyota Corolla)"With the more powerful XRS engine and tighter suspension, it handles really well. It was also available only with a manual transmission which I consider very desirable. Also, no one will borrow (or possibly steal) a car with a manual."
Eugene B., IL (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Quick acceleration, corners well. Basically fun a pleasure to drive."
Janet M., RI (2005 Toyota Corolla)"The 4 cylinder engine is very responsive and it has good acceleration."
Anonymous, KY (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Without effort or excessive acceleration, the manual transmission Corolla leaves most other vehicles behind when starting from a standing stop. Steering seems responsive and reasonably precise."
Anonymous, ON (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Very good acceleration and handling, even in snow and ice. The bad news is the car is too road noisy. More insulation should have been in the design and construction."
Wendell M., WA (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration is exceptional for the small 1.8L engine. Ride quality is adequate but could be better for highway travel."
Anonymous, OH (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Just a solid little car that never gives any trouble. (for 13 Years)"
Anonymous, AB (2005 Toyota Corolla)"Fairly good accell fair handling"
Michael S., OH (2005 Toyota Corolla)"The handling is fine, the acceleration on the highway is not great. It goes into overdrive to go onto the highway and achieve proper speed. There is nothing wrong with the engine, that is just what it does."
Anonymous, RI (2005 Toyota Corolla)"The car has a greater than standard engine and accelerates faster than standard. I like the way it pulls ahead and handles when cornering. It drives fairly effortlessly. I may drive it another 8 years."

"At 11 years and 63,000 miles the A/C is not blowing quite as cold as it used to. Also, there is a noticeable change in engine power usage (RPM's increase) when the A/C is turned on."
MARK R., CA (2005 Toyota Corolla)
