Includes acceleration and handling
What Owners Say
"Acceleration is good when I need to increase speed when merging into traffic."
Neil H., AB (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration isn't good and it is not bad. Just a small 4 cyclinder engine. For jack rabbit starts I noticed the front tires do not spin, they skip, causing the car to vibrate.. For wet and snow covered roads, it does the same thing, tires skip."
Anonymous, IL (2006 Toyota Corolla)"ease of driving and power when needed"
Anonymous, KS (2006 Toyota Corolla)"great"
Claude J., NC (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Manual transmission, the car is fun to drive. Zippy enough for a small engine although it is not fast off the starting line."
Anonymous, IL (2006 Toyota Corolla)"It is not a race car. The car is easy to drive, it accelerates at a good pace. It is however noisy on the road"
Anonymous, ID (2006 Toyota Corolla)"i am most impressed with the comfort and quality of my 10 year old car"
Nancy M., MN (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Acceleration is ok. I would prefer better acceleration for traffic situations like passing"
Christopher B., GA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Very poor example of the automotive art."
Fred R., WI (2006 Toyota Corolla)"There is a delay in response when I accelerate from a stop or accelerate to speed up in traffic that is new and I can't figure out why this is happening."
Anonymous, CA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"It handles well and is responsive in accelerating and braking. Acceleration is comfortable. Brakes have locked up and tires skid with an inattentive and "new to driving this car" driver behind the wheel. I find a certain comfort in having to handroll windows up and down. Standard radio has exceptionally poor reception that I rarely use it. I don't mess with it unless I'm at a stop or stopped. I don't use the CD function, too distracting. It has been very reliable to date."
Gloria P., CA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Handles very well and feels quite sporty. Recommend the use of snow tires in the winter."
Tom H., ON (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Great pick up speed, acceleration"
Anonymous, PA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"It starts & it drives, what more is there!"
Anonymous, HI (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Handles well. The acceleration is surprisingly good for such a reasonably-priced car."
Anonymous, CA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Very noisy, not a smooth ride. Great for short trips, but tiring on long drives."
Homer B., VA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"This car is a pleasure to drive. It's not a sports car but it has very good accelerating and handles extremely well."
Anonymous, NC (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Very peppy acceleration that has not left us wanting on the highway. Easy and comforting handling; no surprises. We use this as our road trip vehicle and have been quite happy with the ride on those longer trips."
Matthew C., WA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Highway driving_ usually drive 115kph. I feel very safe and in full control. Great acceleration when I need it e.g., passing other cars on the road. Steering very responsive in both city and highway driving. Same with acceleration, good in both situations."
Anonymous, NB (2006 Toyota Corolla)"It has a 5 speed standard shift that is still nimble, it handles well on curves."
Anonymous, NC (2006 Toyota Corolla)"dependability"
Anonymous, NY (2006 Toyota Corolla)"With the factory tires, the handling was not very precise in cross-winds; with wider Michelin tires, that issue is gone and handling can now be quite fun."
Gary L., BC (2006 Toyota Corolla)"This manual transmission vehicle is still fun to drive after a decade. Responsive, simple, and highly efficient, it makes me feel bad for BMW owners who paid three times the price for the same level of sporty driving."
Samuel B., VA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Exactly what you would expect"
Anonymous, CA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Extremely dependable, handles well"
Bruce K., BC (2006 Toyota Corolla)"IN TOWN ACCELERATION AND HANDLING EXCELLENT"
Anonymous, ON (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Even though this car is in its last chapter, its engine is still strong and reliable. Love that."
Anonymous, MD (2006 Toyota Corolla)"acceleration good."
Anonymous, VA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"its just a good all around car"
Anonymous, IN (2006 Toyota Corolla)"with the manual stick shift the car is very peppy and handles great."
Frederick W., FL (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Reverse has always been annoying in this car. It requires more than a light touch to get the car to move backwards when parking. That makes it harder to control in reverse."
Anonymous, NY (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Vehicle is fun to drive tight turns, great handling. OK acceleration. But great for tight turns and round abouts."
Anonymous, MB (2006 Toyota Corolla)"bad road traction"
DAVID S., RI (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Handles great and accelerates great."
DAWN K., IN (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Doesn't climb hills (mountain passes)very well"
DAVID L., NM (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Often on the highway the car vibrates at 50+ mph."
Anonymous, MA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"good reliable car"
GREG S., NE (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Highway handling in my opinion is more difficult than it should be."
Anonymous, WI (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Accleration is good handling is good. However their is rough idle and car briefly hesitates when pressing the gas. Like it wants to quit running. Hard to start at times."
Anonymous, AL (2006 Toyota Corolla)"I drive very conservatively (which is why my MPG is quite good). If I had to push this car, I would not be as satisfied, because the acceleration would not be great."
DAVID B., NC (2006 Toyota Corolla)"The handling is very good in a neutral way, meaning that it is easy to drive."
Anonymous, WA (2006 Toyota Corolla)"Handling stinks compared to our 1993 Saturn. Acceleration is modest at best."
Anonymous, NC (2006 Toyota Corolla)
"Accelerated well bit feels too high off the ground around turns. Swings a bit."
Anonymous, CA (2006 Toyota Corolla)
