When Toyota last redesigned the Corolla it landed right on target, ranking among the top models in its class. The Corolla combines the practicality and frugal fuel economy that compact-sedan buyers want with a roomy interior, upgraded amenities, and a sorely needed shot of style. The Corolla is slightly larger than the old model, which allows for a surprisingly spacious rear seat with ample leg room.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Owner Satisfaction with:

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"When using cruise control, the RPM's and speed increases over the set speed when going up small hills and descending small hills. The noise of the CVT transmission is excessive and Toyata states that because of the regulated/variable cruise control this is normal."

Anonymous, ON (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"For a four-cylinder economy car, the acceleration is amazing. I am very confident driving this car."

Robert S., VA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Excellent adaptive cruise control feature makes it a dream to drive on long trips."

Anonymous, TX (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"It is noisy on initial acceleration, but quiets down once you get going faster."

Joanne K., MN (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Acceleration is fine from a stop or around town. On the highway, it's so bad it's almost dangerous. It's a 6-spd manual and it simply cannot maintain highway speeds (~110-120 km/h) on the slightest of grades in 6, and barely in 5. If you need to pass quick you must go two gears down to 4, and for most hills 5, and the steapest, 4. Combination of not enough power and what is really two overdrive gears. On the plus, fuel economy can easily beat epa of 6.6 l/100 kmif you drive the speed limit and there's minimal wind. I have acheived 5.9 l/100 km in windless hwy conditions."

Anonymous, NL (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"From a complete stop, the vehicle is slow so I need to be especially aware of my distance to get up to highway speed. Once it is going it accelerates OK but nothing like a turbo or v-8 engine. Handling is way more than I expected. I have been on some very curvy roads and the Corolla handles them very good."

Anonymous, TN (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"With the 6 speed manual, It is pretty quick for the size of the vehicle. I have yet to take on a corner I couldn't make in my Corolla SE. Even at higher speeds."

Colton K., PA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Funky noises when using cruise control. Seems to over rev when slowing down, especially going downhill."

Anonymous, NC (2018 Toyota Corolla)

Anthony F., IN (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"sound quality of radio is terrible and I am a senior."

Anonymous, IL (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Has plenty of "get up and go" even when fully loaded."

Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Fuel Economy compromise equals leisurely acceleration with Continuously Variable automatic Transmission. It will never win an acceleration race but the fuel economy is spectacular for a comfortable, run errands town car. With it small size and nimble handling, it a joy to drive and particularly park in tight spaces."

Anonymous, AL (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Horrible and slopy steering"

Anonymous, MA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Vert quiet, seats are comfortable, ride is very smooth"

Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Safety features are standard thats awesome."

Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"This Corolla LE ECO is getting 38 MPG in city driving. I haven't taken any long trips but expect well over 40 MPG. The car is put together, to me looks good, except for the stock wheels. At 70 y.o.a. I hade to get the upgraded rims. It is comfortable to drive, handles well. The only problem is due to double knee replacement it took a while getting used to entering the low to position level seats. My other vehicle is a Dodge Ram 2500 4 x 4 so you can understand why it was a first hard to get in and out of the car. Now it is easy since I figured out it isn't a Dodge. This is a very good priced vehicle, one I would recommend to many. The back seat has plenty of leg room for to and a large trunk. The back seat folds down for extra storage."

Anonymous, TN (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Ample discounts and student rebate."

Anonymous, MA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Lots of "NEW" features for a lower end model."

Tony C., PA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"I honestly do not believe that there is a better value in a car than Corolla. The car is equipped with the latest safety features standard (as opposed to a Subaru which adds it's "insight" as an expensive option in a comparable car). The car handles well, acceleration and gas mileage are very good. We took a road trip through the mountains and the car handled I-70 through Colorado easily and comfortably."

Anonymous, CO (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Our Toyota Corolla is not a very exciting car, but it is a great car for the money. Comfortable front seats, really spacious backseat, good trunk space, adequate acceleration, good handling and gas mileage, and super reliable. Not a car to set the world on fire, but it will definitely get you where you want to go."

Anonymous, MO (2018 Toyota Corolla)

Attention to detail with fuel economy (35MPG) very racy styling, spectacular frequency of repair record and great resale value make a quality value package."

"Good"

John K., VA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"You simply can not get another car in this class that is nearly as well equipped, comfortable, spacious or as dependable as this vehicle is. I believe that the Corolla, particularly in the SE model line is by far the best small car on the road and it's not even close."

William P., CA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

Jacob S., FL (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"GREAT VALUE..... this is my THIRD Corolla... ."

Joe V., CA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"Reliabilty and cost to own are superior to all other comparable vehicles"

Mary S., FL (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"overall value for ride, mpg, standard safety equipment and electronic system."

Doug A., WA (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"We consider our Toyota autos to have be an excellent value. Except for the one previous Toyota lease, we have run all to high mileages with little more than routine maintenance and replacements such as tires, batteries, and lamps. Body and upholstery have been very durable, as well as engine and drive train."

W H., CT (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"The value of a Toyota Corolla starts at the purchase. You get and excellent vehicle for a reasonable price. It continues over the years of use with minimal repairs. MPG is great. And, when you are ready to move on to a newer car, the trade-in value is stellar. We still have a 2007 Corolla that runs beautifully, has low maintenance costs, has only a tiny area of rust, and has over 160,000 miles on it. We only bought a new one because we are passing the 2007 on to our grandson."

Anonymous, IL (2018 Toyota Corolla)

"A highly rated, solid, and reliable car for a reasonable price."

J L., IL (2018 Toyota Corolla)
