"Intermitting engine racing to 5000 rpms and going over cruise control setting."Anonymous, MN (2019 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl)
"2 problems with cruise control. 1. About one time out of ten when I turn on smart cc on the highway, with no near traffic in front of me, the car will brake very abruptly to slow down from 65 to about 40 - so abruptly that a car tailgating me might crash into me. 2. When I am driving slower than 60 with normal cruise control, the rpm shoots up over 4000 with even a very slight downward slope, making loud whirring noise. This does not really slow the car, and I can control the speed just as well by turning off cruise control and not stepping on the accelerator. The exaggerated effect of downshifting makes it seem that gas is still being given the engine. This does not happen on every down slope, but on most of them. Sometimes it does not happen even if the slope is quite steep."Andrew S., NC (2019 Toyota Corolla)
