With all wheel drive this vehicle makes it up my very steep driveway without difficulty in the snow. It feels solid and very predictable. 2011 model still has mechanical AWD and this gives you control over the road in any weather condition unlike competitors electronic AWD which are useless as they switch on/off erratically and overheat/fail after some use. Highlander system can run full day in any road or weather condition which gives you an ability to come to your destination in time. It also handles corners with minimal lean and in very predictable manner. This is an easy to drive vehicle with comfort for full family."

"Generally speaking, the ride is good, but get worse over rough pavement. Ride and comfort have changed over time getting noisier and less enjoyable. One thing I've noticed is the ride quality is heavily dependant on the type of tires on the vehicle. I had one set of Bridgestones that ruined the ride and upped the noise levels to unbearable on some pavements. I remember seeking out smooth sections of roadway, just to lower the din. My latest set of tires, Michelin, transformed the vehicle making it livable and a pleasure to drive, once again."

Sometimes just because the heat feels good on our lower backs regardless of the weather. The car rides relatively quietly so we can have conversations although listening with hearing aids is challenging. The steering wheel is responsive and controls are easy to reach. We don't use the Bluetooth cell phone connection by personal choice."

"Hybrid is NOT worth the money. I owned a Prius before this, knew how mileage related to that posted. Asked repeatedly, "will I get MPG you post for Highlander?" Told yes, you might get better. It's not close to what they post. Not much better than standard gas engine, should just buy that rather than Hybrid. I'll not get a hybrid mid- to large- SUV unless there is documented evidence they outperform a gas engine. My experience is not close."
