Fifty-two mpg. Mic drop. The 52 mpg overall we garnered in the redesigned 2016 Toyota Prius is a phenomenal achievement, especially viewed against the previous car's impressive 44 mpg overall. In fact, it's the highest fuel economy we've ever recorded by a car that doesn't plug in. There's more going on with the fourth-generation Prius than just fuel sipping, though.

What Owners Say

"See previous statement...."

Patricia L., FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"good acceleration, quick response to breaking, Tire pressure light often goes on for no reason, window lock doesn't work."

Anonymous, NH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"This is our fourth Prius. It's pick up is noticeably more powerful and immediate than our earlier model Prius's. And even with the added power the gas mileage is way higher."

Anonymous, VA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Corners well and better performance than previous Prius"

Anonymous, ME (2017 Toyota Prius)

"As a hybrid driving the Prius is NOT about acceleration and handling, it is about gas mileage. A bit stiffer springs would even out the car when going around a corner but it is a minor issue."

Barry B., OH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Car is very responsive."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Handling and acceleration is excellent."

Anonymous, NM (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Acceleration is excellent, even when in ECO mode. The adaptive cruise control makes highway driving less tiring."

Anonymous, IN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"We use the Normal driving mode and have plenty of power on freeway, hills. The steering is very tight and fun. We get about 62.2 miles per gallon and live in a hilly area."

Thomas H., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"While driving overall is a very good experience, I find that the car slows down on climbing even slight hills which somewhat reduces my gas mileage."

Barbara M., OH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Great handling and acceleration. Terrific gas mileage."

Anonymous, MA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Very smooth acceleration, plenty of power. Difficult to stop smoothly (brakes grab when slowing for a stop)"

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"comfort and mpg"

Anonymous, NJ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The Prius has sluggish acceleration but handles fairly well on the road. I really love the new safety features of the Prius, such as the automatic cruise control with radar, blind spot side mirror warning, and front/rear crash warning signals."

Anonymous, AZ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Acceleration can be hesitant. Handling is very good."

Robert W., MI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It took a while to get used to the cruise control monitor of distance to the vehicle ahead. It tends to slow down much too far away (approx 8-10 vehicle lengths). There is a steering wheel control to reduce that distance, but again, it was a learning curve. I was never informed of how to control it by the dealer."

Richard C., OR (2017 Toyota Prius)

"More explanation on the three different driving modes normal mode, power mode, economical mode."

Roger B., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"We use eco most of the time. Nice and quite."

David A., FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Very good acceleration and handling. This model has sensors front, back, & sides. Some radar, others radar with camers"

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Recently went on a road trip and love the cruise control, especially how it first to the traffic. Love all the safety alerts"

Steven A., MD (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It's noisy on acceleration."

Larry F., IN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Hybrids get a bad rap re: acceleration. I have never had an occasion to need more zip. Cornering and rough roads are handled fine."

Larry N., WI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I don't know why you say acceleration is barely adequate. For sensible everyday driving, it's more than adequate. The car handles smoothly in most conditions and braking is easy and smooth."

Craig H., ON (2017 Toyota Prius)

"As a hypermiler I have no words to express the great mileage I get on this car. It is SUPER!!!!"

Daniel H., NC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It has all the pep I need: it can accelerate when needed. It is responsive and corners much better than most cars."

Anonymous, FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Comfortable ride, tires are noisy"

Joseph L., CT (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Best car I’ve ever had. It’s quiet, drives like a dream, will turn upon a dime and us very responsive. Love the red. Styling could be less angular, doors are too wide and I see no point in the dinging sound inside the car while backing up."

Anonymous, CO (2017 Toyota Prius)

"nothing noteworthy about how it drives - this car isn't about performance it's about mileage"

Anonymous, NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"excellent mpg, comfortable ride."

Les G., PA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"This is my fourth Prius and is way better than any previous. The acceleration in PWR mode is excellent. It's easier to see when cornering and it just handles better. It's nimble and a pleasure to drive."

Turnbull I., FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It has more than adequate acceleration, even in eco-mode. I am also very satisfied with the handling. It corner well."

Anonymous, CO (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Acceleration was surprising brisk using the 3 different driving modes - ECO, Normal, Power. Gives great control over gas mileage. In Power mode, it takes off like a rocket, but can be brought back quickly to ECO mode."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Compared to previous two Prius I’ve owned, the 2017 is quieter, handles better, has better acceleration, more comfortable seating, and better mpg. The only negative is that it has less room for storing small items inside the cabin - smaller glove box, no middle shelf."

R B., TX (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The ride is a little stiff and a little cramped"

Anonymous, MN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The acceleration of the Prius was comparable to my previous (non-hybrid) car. We test-drove the Prius Compact and there were some power issues, but the regular Prius has been just fine."

Anonymous, ON (2017 Toyota Prius)

"LOVE how it handles; previous older models were not to my liking, but this steering & handling is tight & responsive. Once I learned how it accelerates, I'm pleased. It can move quickly, but you have to back off on the gas & let it catch up going uphill, (but it DOES catch up quickly)"

Anonymous, IN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The Eco has Eco, Normal and Power operating modes. In the Eco mode there is ample power to transport 5 adults with a full cargo area while still achieving 58 mpg's (67 mpg with 2 passengers and cargo) over long distances and at freeway speeds. See previous note about nice feel to steering and seating."

Tim R., MN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Handles much better than the previous generation Prius, with a lower center of gravity which makes going around corners easier. Very smooth ride, quiet, road noise is lower than previous generation Prius also."

Anonymous, FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The acceleration is adequate and it has a nice tight turning circle. The steering is tight though the car is affected by strong cross winds."

M S., AZ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It's as good or better than a top model Cadillac I used to own"

Anonymous, HI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"acceleration is smooth and responsive, handling is good."

Anonymous, ON (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It drives smoothly and easily."

Laurel R., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"This vehicle provides supurb gas mileage while providing excellent acceleration and very nimble handling."

C B., IL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Wife’s car. She loves 51 mile average town or highway she likes small car and likes drive and handling. I have enough room for my 6’ body. Traded Volt for Prius. Liked Volt but based on your reliability of new model and no close selling dealer decided to forget plugin and go Prius"

Joe N., OK (2017 Toyota Prius)

"One of CR's criticisms about this car was the acceleration. I don't agree. Performance is adequate for all types of driving. There is enough power to pass without difficulty."

Dennis C., AZ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Handling is very good. The car corners level and always feel in control of the car. Its fast from a dead stop but the acceleration slows down quickly. I still never have an issue accelerating when entering an expressway."

Lawrence L., NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"local and freeway driving is very quiet and comfortable."

Anonymous, AZ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It is powerful. It is reliable. It is dependable. Tow capability is excellent."

Anonymous, MD (2017 Toyota Prius)

"As a former owner of several hi performance Mercedes and BMW vehicles, I appreciate the handling and road-worthiness of these cars. However the Prius handles more than adequately for any situations I encounter on American roads. More than that, I appreciate being able to get an average 57+ mpg over the life of the car."

Anonymous, NC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The steering is responsive and the acceleration (and braking) is plenty good enough for my purposes. I'm not in a race."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Electric is smooth, quiet and fast."

Anonymous, FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Very good handling car"

Anonymous, NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It’s far zipper than the 2004 Prius. Plus, the various driving features such as adaptive cruis control, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and auto hi-beams make driving the Prius a pleasure."

Paul D., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"This hybrid has excellent acceleration and handling. Put in the Power Mode and it will take off!"

Anonymous, TX (2017 Toyota Prius)

"handling is much better than my 2010 Prius."

Ronnie R., CO (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The acceleration is surprisingly good."

James B., NJ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"So much fun to drive! Accelerates quickly and the safety features (heads up display, 360 degree perimeter warnings make it extra safe. I love this car!"

Lisa M., IN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Acceleration is excellent compared to the older Prius we used to have. We don’t have to access a power for passing or entering a beltway. Handling could not be better. I have confidence in this vehicle, and it is fun to drive!"

Anonymous, MD (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Handles quite well with the touring package. Acceleration is good."

Bart R., PA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Very smooth and gentle. Responds well to pedal pressure and is highly predictable."

Bruce P., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Don't like black buttons against black panel."

Barbara P., AZ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Solid handling and more acceleration than I expected from a hybrid"

Anonymous, KY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Steering accuracy and ease is much better than on my 2004 Prius which wandered easily. Acceleration is excellent; the car merges and passes well on freeways. Blind spot indicator and lane departure warning are useful features, as is the rear back-up camera and back-up cross- traffic warning."

Anonymous, TX (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It drives well, good acceleration for highway driving and passing."

G K., NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I am surprised at how well it handles. It also accelerates quicker than I thought it would, being a small hybrid."

Sue C., WI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I love the back up camera and the lane control system. There is nothing bad about the car. It rides smoothly and gets fabulous milage."

Elizabeth B., FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"excellent acceleration power and speed"

Anonymous, OK (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I upgraded from a 2012 to a 2017 Prius. The driving experience is so much better in the 2017 The car is sturdier, I get much better gas mileage and the comfort far exceeds the previous model."

Roger B., SC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Love all the safety features especially the automatic braking with the cruise control.,"

Anonymous, NC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It's a bit noisy on the highway but handles beautifully with great mileage."

Martin S., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It is very stable and handles well w its 'smart' cruise control. Only problems is when snow confounds the safety gear, and the headlights (LED) don't give off heat so the snow accumulates over them."

Joe O., MD (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It has more pep and handles better than my last 3 priuses"

Thomas O., MA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Most of our driving is in the hills of Western Pennsylvania and we use a lot of power to move and brake. I move with the traffic with ease and have great, fast acting brakes when I need to stop. The automatic braking system is particularly effective."

P S., PA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The Prius drives very smooth and relatively quiet on the highway, much like a larger car."

Ken S., BC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The car is a pleasure to drive with good acceleration and comfortable steering, and the fuel efficiency is amazing."

Roger S., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Its acceleration is crisp, immediate without loosing any of its excellent handling characteristics (e.g., controlled, steady, firm)."

Alberto M., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Nothing is bad about this little car. I wish the roof did not have that antenna on top, I load furniture and large objects on top, and it gets in the way."

Anonymous, NV (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Great turning radius. Great acceleration and if I need more I put it in Power setting, not Eco. Front bumper catches on standard height parking curbs."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"mpg"

Robert L., MA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Very comfortable"

William E., AZ (2017 Toyota Prius)

Anonymous, ON (2017 Toyota Prius)

"acceleration is smooth and adequate. Handling is great and easy."

Anonymous, TX (2017 Toyota Prius)

"This car feels solid, like a much bigger vehicle."

Kaye W., MO (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Great ride and very good acceleration and handling."

Anonymous, NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Wonderful car to drive"

Janette B., MI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I especially like the blind spot monitor and for driving info moderate to heavy freeway traffic the Full speed radar cruise control which slows the Prius without having to jump on the brakes."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It is surprisingly perky especially compared to our older 2005 Prius we sold."

Anonymous, WI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The car is designed for fuel economy, so it advises you not to lead foot it from a stop light. But if you want to waste the fuel, it can move, hold the road and keep up with the big spenders"

Preston S., PA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"This is our "town car." it feels very solid and precise. It's no drag racer, but acceleration is more than adequate for everyday driving. It's very easy and pleasant to drive. The hatchback is very convenient for shopping and hauling. And it gets 58 mpg in the city!"

Stephen P., NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Acceleration and handling are far superior to our previous 2004 Prius. This car is a dream to drive. We have no problems passing at freeway speeds. As with all Priuses, the engine revs up when going up hills, but is quieter and lower frequency than the 2004."

Anonymous, NH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The Prius has plenty of acceleration if I need it. The handling is supurb. A much improved handling package over the 2014 Prius I previously owned."

C B., IL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The touring model feels much more like a sports car & less like a golf cart. Even in eco mode it accelerates well & smoothly."

Meg W., GA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The acceleration and handling is perfect for thisi car."

James A., CO (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Accelerates easily much more pep than our 2008 Prius"

Susan L., PA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It is remarkably responsive for a hybrid- excellent pick up, very easy to get on the freeway! Handles much better than my husbands pick-up! Totally happy with it!"

Anonymous, TX (2017 Toyota Prius)

"This Prius has better acceleration than the previous models. Handling has been improved and the use of just the EV has increased drastically."

James M., IL (2017 Toyota Prius)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"I find drivers seat very uncomfortable when driving long distances. My wife finds passenger seat too low and uncomfortable . She has to use cushion to raise her up."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I find it difficult to get out of the vehicle."

Anonymous, TN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The sun visor only covers 2/3 of the side window when moved there. For much of my commute, the son comes in from the remaining third of the window. Most vehicles allow the visor to be moved where needed, but this one does not. It's a real pain, and a safety issue. Toyota has been told of this, but isn't interested in adding that feature to the visor. Also the seats could be more comfortable."

David G., OH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Good lumbar support. Good firm seats. Low noise Nice ride"

Jill R., NJ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Back seat is very tight, especially getting in or out. Ride is quite noisy and bumpy."

Robert W., MI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I love the driver's side seat. I love that I can control the movement (forward/back/up/down/lumbar) with the touch of a button. Not so with the passenger side. The passenger side front seat needs to be electrified. Likewise, more control of the seat warmer and adding a seat cooler (like in the Avalon) would be nicer."

Stefanie B., FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"wish that the back of seat could be adjusted more for comfort"

Sue K., MO (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Good back support seats, quiet ride, overall very good."

Anonymous, IN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Good lumbar support for driver, ease of seat manipulation. Bad--power seat not available for passenger seat. Good--heated front seats"

Anonymous, IL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"They are more comfortable than the 2016 Lexus RX"

Anonymous, NC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Headrests are horrible for tall people; they lean too far forward and constantly hit the back of my head."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Seats, noise and ride are fine, but I cannot understand why there is no way to open or close the hatchback door via remote or lever inside the car. And the placement of where to grab the door to lower it is much less convenient than in the 2007 Prius. At 5' tall, I have to stretch to close the door. With all the advanced safety features the car has, why couldn't they have made the hatchback door able to be operated by the key fob like most other cars? That and the navigation system are my only complaints."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Heated seats good vision & can fit a tall person . I’m 6’5‿"

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"smooth and quiet"

M S., OH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Our Prius has heat heaters. The controls are very awkward to reach. It almost appears like an aftermarket installation."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Car driven exclusively by wife - at 5' 4" she can set the seating to be just right for her (sees and can reach everything). The seating is comfortable for most folks and even I can (almost) fit well. The ride is quiet and smooth and the hybrid can accelerate well from a standing start if you really need that. Prius is just getting consistently better for her."

Anonymous, PA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I've never been able to find an adjustment for the driver's seat that did not make me uncomfortable after a few hours driving. This was not an issue with my previous (2010) Prius."

Anonymous, MD (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Considering its outstanding fuel economy, this car is surprisingly comfortable. Road noise is sometimes somewhat intrusive, but a small price to pay for the mpg."

Anonymous, VA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The noise when driving on a rough concrete highway is unbearable. I have to wear ear plugs. It's like being in a base drum."

Robert E., NV (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The acceleration was a pleasant surprise. I drove a 2002 Saab 9-3 Turbo which is very quick off the mark and it handled beautifully. The Toyota really moves when I stomp on the pedal! I didn't know a hybrid could do that! As for Comfort, the car is a little cheap/stiff in the seats and the highway noise is really bad at high speed (70+). It's disappointing, but I just crank up the radio...."

Patricia L., FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Much improved over last generation model. Comparable to accord or Camry"

Mark C., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It gives a quiet ride, and is fairly smooth. The seats are comfortable."

Anonymous, ON (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The seats feel very low. We had a Prius previously and this one is much lower. Also the seats are not quite as comfortable. My husband is skinny, without much rear passing and he finds it very uncomfortable. I, on the other hand, have ample passing in the rear area and I find the seats comfortable. But not very comfortable."

Jan K., CO (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Fantastic vehicle...superb efficiency combined excellent comfort in the seats, interior noise level and smooth ride"

Michelle G., MI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"They are more comfortable as the seats in my previously owned BMWs and MBs and more supportive of my back."

Anonymous, NC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The angle between the driver's seat and the control pedals is awkward so that my right foot tends to cramp in stop-and-go traffic. Otherwise quite satisfactory."

Anthony P., IL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Quietest auto I have ever owned. Ride is very comfortable and handling is agile."

Anonymous, OR (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Many good things stand out - fun to drive because it handles nicely: firm steering with electro magnet, no wander; smooth ride; easy to drive long distances given the comfort of seat(s) and ease of steering which includes the feature to keep the Eco in its lane; arrangement of controls on steering wheel and ease of using the in dash controls; and, while this is not a comfort factor, the really good is the high mpg's. Short drives of just a few miles on sub-zero degree days in Minneapolis drops the mpg's to 44. BUT, most of the time, my mpg's generally range from 58 to 92 mpg's with spring, summer and fall monthly averages around 66 mpg. The Eco is really fun to drive and lower impact with respect to tailpipe emissions."

Tim R., MN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Because it is a hatchback, it is very noisy on the highway. Difficult to hear news radio due to the noise of the tires."

Anonymous, MA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I wish it had a way for it to remember who was driving nd adjust the seat and mirrors for the person."

Wm V., OH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It feels pretty comfortable but the seat controls aren’t electrically controlled and not as easy to adjust"

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I find the driver's seat uncomfortable and have to use a cushion for comfort"

Anonymous, MS (2017 Toyota Prius)

"II'm short. Seats are too low"

Anonymous, NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"High interior noise level."

Anonymous, DE (2017 Toyota Prius)

"very quiet, stable ride. Front seats are heated! Much improved comfort over our previous 2005 Prius."

Thomas H., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"the seats in the Prius are not comfortable bucket seats. They do not give the same amount of side support as a 'good' bucket seat does as in a BMW or Mercedes."

Barry B., OH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Heated comfortable seats driving experience control, solid body construction and safety devices"

Anonymous, HI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I feel every bump, pothole and overall not comfortable on long drives and some city streets."

Art K., GA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The car is roomy for passengers and it amazing how much you can get into it. The car is fairly noisy and the ride is a bite bumpy, but we drove it 10,000 miles across the country."

Anonymous, WA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Cramped"

Anonymous, TX (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Very comfortable with room for four people and luggage. Nice ride and low noise"

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Road noise could be less with more sound proofing. Driver's seat does not have lumbar support."

Anonymous, IL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Seats are comfortable. The noise level inside is quite low.and bumps are nicely absorbed by the suspension. Big improvement over the prior generation of Prius."

Lawrence L., NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Headrest/seat position is uncomfortable. Forces driver's head forward if seat back is mostly upright."

Anonymous, AL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The seats are supportive but not cushy."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"lacks lower back support. Seat material is wearing out on driver's seat bottom."

Anonymous, AZ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"given how good the rest of the car is, it is amazing how bad the seats are - they don't have good lumbar support, no adjustment for lumbar, and in general are a step down from my older prius. I may end up selling the car over this"

Dave R., TX (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Wish seats had adjustable lumbar support."

Marie L., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The seat is comfortable for a long drive."

Sean F., OR (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Very comfortable and adjustable seats. Quiet ride. However, I have twice had a rattle in the front seat area related to the rearview mirror attachment."

Anonymous, CO (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The ride is much-improved over my 2007 Prius."

Ralph N., NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Gas mileage is great. NO SPARE TIRE! I didn't think that was even legal. Much less storage space compared to the other twopriuses we owned. A glove compartment that is tiny and difficult to open. A hard plastic dashboard which my knees press up against. The front seems more cramped than the other two cars. No rear window wiper. A dangerous cruise control knob which snags my wife's dress when she is making a turn. It hinders the process."

Anonymous, OR (2017 Toyota Prius)

"front seats need lumbar support (something we miss when we went from a Camry to a Prius)."

Michael W., IL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Power seats are a must for comfort."

Richard S., CO (2017 Toyota Prius)

Richard W., MD (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The car is noisy. There's constant and loud road and wind noise."

Anonymous, NJ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The drivers seat is not very comfortable. The highway tire noise is too loud probably because the tire pressure is higher than I am used to"

M S., AZ (2017 Toyota Prius)

"When driving in ev mode the car is so quiet. The driver seat can be adjusted to fit perfectly"

Steven A., MD (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Seats are very comfortable with adjustable lumbar support; good visibility, very convenient to reach steering, controls, see dash as well"

Anonymous, KY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Drivers seat lacks sufficient up and down adjustment. Small driver has poor view to rear, side, and front. there is no adjustment to lumbar support and little room for movement of legs."

Michael S., OK (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Noise and ride are dramatically improved in the 2017 Prius since the 2015 version that I owned previously. The seats could be better. Seat should offer more positions and should have better support in the bottom cushion."

Michael D., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Front seats are a bit too low and too firm on long rides."

Joe B., MN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Seat comfort is ok. Ride is very good. Noise is not as good as I expected."

Anonymous, NM (2017 Toyota Prius)

"If you go up a moderate hill it really taxes the engine. for being partly electric it should really be able to accelerate off the starting ling faster. There is a lot of road noise. Maybe insulation in the wheel well area would help."

"The seats provide a comfortable ride, however there is wind noise."

Bart R., PA (2017 Toyota Prius)

Anonymous, NY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"front 2 seats are very comfortable. inside car is very quiet. ride is very comfortable."

Anonymous, AZ (2017 Toyota Prius)

Anonymous, KY (2017 Toyota Prius)

"This vehicle has a rear spoiler and the rear seat s have headrest that takes about a quarter of rear window vision from the driver"

Alvin J., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Everything important is great except the seats. They are too hard and the back of the seat is curved for people with curved backs. It is hard to sit with good posture. It makes you slump."

Anonymous, OH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Drivers seat is very low. Hard to exit car. Seat comfort is OK."

Anonymous, WA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Driver seat with adjustable Lumbar and tilt controls makes the car very comfortable to drive"

William T., PA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The seats are marginally comfortable and get less and less so the longer we ride in it. The hip bolsters are too high. There is no adjustment of the passenger seat. Noise is not a big factor, as the cabin is quite quiet. We have an annoying intermittent rattle in the upper instrument cluster on the dash. We spoke to another 2017 Prius owner and she had the same issue. The ride is very smooth."

Mark M., FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Seats are low, though easy entry for older people. The Prius is quiet in city driving and the main noise is from tires at higher speeds. The car rides like a much bigger car and is comfortable."

Ken S., BC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Massive improvement to 2010 model. Better padding and adjustability in the seats, options for high or low seat heating. Ride noise is very much improved. Overall,a vastly improved model."

Meg W., GA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The interior is comfortable, but seems cramped and has much less storage than our 2007 Prius. Road noise is much improved but still not good. Armrest storage is hard to access by passenger."

Michael C., TX (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Very smooth, quiet, and comfortable."

Anonymous, TN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Improved cabin noise reduction over previous models--and those were all excellent. A quiet, quality, ride worthy of much more expensive vehicles--all while getting over 52 MPG and substantially reducing your carbon footprint. It doesn't get any better."

Samuel C., PA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The interior is very roomy and comfortable. It has more interior room than our old midsized sedan. This was surprising"

John Y., OH (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The seats fit my wife (5'1") with no difficulty. She generally has trouble with the seat cushion extending too far forward and hitting the backs of her knees. They feel fine for me as well (5'10"). While the power seats are good, they lack the driver memory feature of other models. Car is very quiet. Ride is smooth."

Andrew T., ME (2017 Toyota Prius)

"gas mileage, versatility of space, excellent. Disappointed that iphone does not integrate well with blue tooth, but overall the safety features are excellent and I got very good deal pricewise."

"I was angry at my salesman. I asked to see the spare tire, and he was unable to open the cover. But there IS no spare. I asked about blinkers on the side view mirrors. He said you can only see them from BEHIND THE CAR. IT DOESN’t jave them. I asked about a HomeLink rearview mirror for my garage door and compass. He said it was something I could add later. Wrong again. Not available. On the price, they charged me about $600 more than the “out the door‿ quote because they got the sales tax wrong."

Anonymous, FL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"I owned a 2004 Prius for 13 yrs. I loved it, so naturally I gravitated to and bought a new Prius at the end of 2017. Not only am I getting outstanding mileage (56 mpg), but the drive, handling and styling are impressive."

Lung N., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The milage is a pleasant surprise, on the 2010 the sticker claim was 10% too high. The 2017 on board computer was about 4% different than my calculations. The driving and acceleration are greatly improved."

Anonymous, CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The Prius is very economical to operate. Great gas mileage, virtually nothing goes wrong - except for routine maintenance (oil change - covered for first 3 years and tire rotation) there's nothing to do do."

Robert S., SC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"How can you beat a car that gets 50+ mpg, is fun to drive, has loads of space and lasts for years? You can't!"

Lisa M., IN (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It delivers the milage and safety but the body construction of of poor quality pressed plastic (no screws ot rivits) that are cheap and break ealily. I wish that I kelp my older model Prius"

Eleanor O., CA (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Love this car. The Lithium-Ion battery is fantastic, it runs it down to 20% regularly, so that I can go several miles or on the freeway on battery alone. It also holds about 1000 meters of downhill energy when you go down long hills. For the amount I paid extra for the ECO, its a great value."

"I love the mileage, hate that to make it lighter they took away the little bit of storage that my 2008 Prius had. Also hate the flimsy cover for the hatchback. The roller shade was much much better."

Anonymous, IL (2017 Toyota Prius)

"The fuel economy is phenomenal. I didn't believe it at first so I carefully measured the mileage over 5 tanks of gasoline (over 2,000 miles) and calculated the mileage at 61 mpg. The vehicle's computer indicated 60 mpg. My wife and I share the driving."

Rich M., NC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"Mechanically the Prius is a very reliable car and even though the price is more than a non Hybrid the fuel savings and reduction in emissions makes it worthwhile for this car"

Ken S., BC (2017 Toyota Prius)

"2017 Prius including about 20 new options (eg, safety systems, auto window wipers, auto heat light dimmers, more air bags etc.) cost less than our 2008 Prius in inflation adjusted dollars. The 2017 car is quieter and gets better gas mileage."

"This was a model year end purchase, minimal haggling, and we seemed to get a very good price. Dealer really pouted when we didn't take financing but honored their price quote. My wife drives the car 100% of time and is amazed with her fuel mileage numbers. Yes, she's on highways a lot but she's consistently getting mid-50s per gallon no matter how you figure it - outstanding."

"Is it PERFECT?. Nope ......Does it come closer than anybody else?, yup....."

Anonymous, MI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"There isn't much bad to tell. Dealer support has been excellent. Car has had only one minor problem - right rear power window stopped working. Costs have been the minimum - only oil/filter changes as scheduled, and since warranty expiration, I do those myself. With cruise control off and using my best high-mileage driving skills, I get about 60 mpg. On cruise control and driving normally with no extra mileage-boosting techniques, it still gets about 58 - 59 mpg, which means I believe the computer algorithms that control the efficiency of the drive train are very sophisticated and optimal. I am truly impressed. I bought the car for reliability and gas mileage, and it has delivered, so far."

Sam S., OR (2017 Toyota Prius)

"It is a marvel of engineering with the acceleration you get with the electric motor and the 56 MPG average. Just a great comfortable car at a good price."

"We love Toyota's Safety Sense package of safety features. The main selling point for us was that we would have had to pay nearly $10,000 more for any other make of car to get these advanced safety features. We are SO glad we have them. We are also very glad we opted for the heads up display, even though it cost extra. Our great gas mileage makes for any even better value, too."

Mark-Letty N., CT (2017 Toyota Prius)

Anonymous, WI (2017 Toyota Prius)

"My 2013 Prius had to be babied to get over 50 mpg, and most of the time hovered 46-48. Greater power than my '07 Prius, better braking and handling, but with the apparent greater power Toyota gave the '13, the loss was in the economy. My '17 model with more stuff on it easily gets close to 60 mpg in cooler months, and mid-50s even in the dead of Summer when economy struggles in these cars. This '17 Prius Four is head and shoulders better than my '13 Three was, and I'm very pleased."

Clay E., TX (2017 Toyota Prius)
