Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

David R., FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Handicapped van very noisy"

Robert R., FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Handling OK. But acceleration great making it more agile."

Anonymous, TX (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"acceleration is good. coming from a brake stop, we can take off quite easily. handling is very good. we have quite a summer of road improvements in our area and the toyota responds well to change of path."

Michael O., IL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Much better response for acceleration than older model. Slight delay starting up from dead stop compared to other cars driven, but not slow."

Anonymous, OR (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"There is a slight hesitation when first accelerating which seems to be inherent in the Sienna model. Our previous 2004 sienna also would hesitate a little. The 2016 model seems to be better about the issue than the 2004"

Anonymous, TX (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"I am satisfied with ride , handling and acceleration. The dealer has been wonderful."

Elmer G., NY (2016 Toyota Sienna)

BRUCE J., MN (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Steering is a little bit too sensitive. You don't want to get distracted because the car goes of track easily"

MICHAEL M., CA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The steering is not very responsive and I feel like I'm driving a boat at times with how much I have to turn the wheel."

NATHAN W., OH (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Drives smoothly. Good acceleration. Very quiet."

Anonymous, FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"I bought the Sienna from Eastern Shore Toyota 10 days ago, left for vacation 3 days later. I have 3100 miles so far & still have to drive from Vermont to The Florida Panhandle. I averaged 25.967 MPG from Pensacola FL to West Rutland, VT. That is great mileage for a brand new vehicle pulling hills on I-81 & I-88 through Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. I must have told my wife a dozen times: " I like this vehicle." She will hear it many more times on the return trip , I'm sure. I"

LEON R., FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

Anonymous, GA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Comfortable and smooth"

Anonymous, MN (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"For a large van/suv it has a very nice ride; smooth."

Anonymous, CA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"This a wonderful car for our vacations - plenty of leg room, room for suitcases, ice chests, anything we want to take along. The seats are cushy and well shaped, interior is quiet and the ride is smooth. It is a great travelling car. This is our second Sienna and our seventh Toyota."

Anonymous, MN (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Seat comfort is good. Sound is good. Very good noise. Predictible FWD."

David G., IL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Noisy cabin. Excessive road noise from tires."

Anonymous, CA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"very comfortable seats and drivers controls. Very little noise and comfortable for long trips."

Anonymous, TX (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Good ride, comfortable seats, quiet"

Anonymous, MN (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"driver seat is very adjustable for our 2 drivers. we are of different sizes and seat is very adjustable."

Michael O., IL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Car has too many rattles. The car could feel more solid."

Ronald B., OH (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The seats are very comfortable .. the issues that should be addressed is the possibility of folding seats down rather than having to remove them to utilize the interior space for moving large items, or moving plants, flowers, antiques etc. It is physically demanding to remove the seats and have to place them in the garage and then load them back into the car .. my husband is seriously considering NOT purchasing another Sienna but one of your competitors with fold down seats. The sad news is some of our other friends are considering that as well and this is our 2nd sienna 2011 and we should be going for number 3 shortly, however removing the second row seats is making him search elsewhere.."

Anonymous, VA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"VERY COMFORTABLE SEATS, LOW NOISE, SMOOTH RIDE"

Anonymous, TX (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The van tends to be a little noisy. Comfort and ride are excellent!"

Richard C., SC (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Road noise is occasionally a problem on some surfaces."

Anonymous, SC (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"the car itself is comfortable even though they now call this a large family car I would call it midsize. The back seat is roomy though."

Anonymous, FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The electric driver's seat is very comfortable for long distance driving, even up to 12 hours. Noise level is acceptable, better than previous year models. Rise is solid no matter how many passengers we have. Suspension never bottoms out."

Harold S., NJ (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Sit higher than car, seats are comfortable for longer rides and overall lower noise level."

William F., MA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Not as comfortable as the seats in our 2008 Sienna van. Thigh support is too short."

Anonymous, MD (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"VERY good lumbar support. All seats are comfortable. Ride is good. I don't go fast"

Kathleen J., NY (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Great on long trips."

Ronnie L., AL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Seat comfort and ride are great. However, there is some noise at 65 mph and higher is noticeable."

Elmer G., NY (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"I think the noise is minimal and have to double check to see if motor is turned off."

Anonymous, WV (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The middle seat holder does not come out of the van. This was a big negative and almost caused us to consider another company. This was not pointed out by the dealer."

Anonymous, KY (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The sienna’s seats are extremely comfortable and when you’re driving on the freeway, it feels like it’s gliding. Road noise isn’t too bad"

Joseph C., CA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Somewhat noisy, seats comfortable, ride as expected"

Anonymous, WI (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"large comfortable seats. Easy to adjust"

Anthony M., FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Too noisy"

Anonymous, TN (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Super comfortable and roomy!"

Anonymous, CA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Comfort is acceptable but I'm tall so seat length is short for best support. It was slightly longer on my 2006 Sienna (same trim line) or the driver seat controls were more adjustable, I don't know which?"

Anonymous, FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Center seat controls are very difficult to operate."

Dan A., KS (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Very comfortable seating, especially when transporting another couple or our family"

Anonymous, FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Has been very comfortable to drive with adequate leg room and comfortable back support. Handles well in all kinds of weather conditions with the all wheel drive."

Anonymous, OR (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Safety recall on electric sliding doors has been pending for over a year"

Anonymous, CA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"I am very delighted by the ride comfort over bumpy roads. The seats are very supportive, although a minivan used for long trips should have at least a 10 way driver seat and 8 way front passenger seat. It is a little noisy with occasional rattles and other noises."

Anonymous, IL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Easy access. Seats are comfortable. Lots of road noise. Small turning radius for the size of the vehicle."

Randolph C., OK (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"very quiet, and seats comfortable on long trips"

Anonymous, FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Great for family trips. Best of this segment"

Anonymous, NC (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The seats are very comfortable."

Anonymous, TX (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"More road noise than I expected Leather seats don’t cool"

Anonymous, SC (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The Sienna is a road trip masterpiece. It is extremely roomy and comfortable for any kind of a trip. It seats 8 and handles the people and their cargo with no problem. The leather is nice and soft. The window curtains block out the sun from the passenger compartment. The seats recline and move forward and back. Six full grown adults can ride in complete comfort with plenty of leg and head room. Two additional people can be comfortable as well, but for shorter periods, or for smaller people."

David M., OR (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Engine noise and air noise is quite loud compared to the Honda"

JACK S., IL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"It has a passenger assist seat which helps me get my husband to doc appts as well as going to other places"

Anonymous, AL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The climate controls are too complicated. Road noise was rated in CR as worse than the 2008 model, but I think it is better. Very quite ride. Odd thing is the doors don't stay open when you open them if the car is on a slight incline....a pain and the dealer can't do anything about it."

GREG M., VA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Terrible cup holders, deletion of storage in dash and elimination of door storage under arm rests. Poor selection of door unlock/lock buttons and fan speed controls (too small and placement)."

Anonymous, PA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Very comfortable, spacious and very enjoyable to drive."

FRANK T., NY (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The ride is better for my back than the Honda CRV."

Anonymous, AZ (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Car is very comfortable with a lot of space. We normally drive with 5 or 6 people in the car, 4 adults and 2 children and everyone is comfortable."

ANDREW B., VA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"EXCELLENT TURNING RADIUS. GOOD SMOOTH RIDE. EXCELLENT HANDLING. LOW NOISE. EXCELLENT CLIMATE CONTROL FRONT AND BACK."

JERRELL R., TX (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The 2nd row has sliding seats but if you use the stock rubber mats that come with it, the seats don't slide, its awful. The center counsel isn't deep enough to have much and the top of it also isn't deep so everything you place on there, like your phone slides right off, very poor design"

Anonymous, IL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Seems to be a very reliable vehicle"

John W., OR (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"very satisfied with toyota's system.well worth the price we paid."

Lou K., NJ (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"resale value very high"

Anonymous, RI (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Outsanding"

Robert S., TN (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"It's exactly what you'd expect. It's a minivan, so you know you're not buying a sports car. But it's all-wheel drive, so after a storm you can drive out of your driveway regardless of how much snow is there. You can't underestimate that. And the seats are comfortable, it has a nice strong engine so the acceleration is very good. Comfortable A/C and heat. Automatic doors a wonderful. As a Toyota, it's reliable. It's all great."

Anonymous, MA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Much better value than an SUV, who you consider the room it offers."

Anonymous, FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Roomy inside, item storage, accessories i.e. window blinds, abundant a/c controls."

Daniel D., AZ (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"We don’t feel this vehicle is quite the van that our 2005 Sienna was. Had trouble with the electric doors not closing properly. Repaired under warranty. Just doesn’t have the same “feel‿. BUT overall we like the vehicle. Practical and functional. Excellent ride. Great mileage for this type of vehicle."

Anonymous, NB (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"comfortable roomy fairly quiet"

Frank M., MT (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Mediocre gas mileage."

William F., MA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"The speedometer is impossible to read in daylight. It is very troublesome. I think Toyota made a stupid mistake not making it readable. It certainly should not be designed as it is made. I truly find it almost dangerous."

Anonymous, MA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"We got a very good deal on our Sienna. We were able to pay the same price for a new one, as some people were paying for a two year older model. The value is tremendous, considering the amount of people-hauling we do. The car doesn't get as many miles as you would expect, because most of the trips in this car are relatively short. But many of the trips have four or more people in it, plus the driver. For moving around kids and their gear, there aren't many equivalent options. The ease of getting in and out and the amount of space for gear are exceptional. So glad we got this van."

David M., OR (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Mislead on equipment in car, collision avoidance, lane change alert, etc. Too much of a hassle to go to court. Company refused to compensate me, fired salesman."

Douglas T., FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"I believe the dealer gave me a good price on the trade in for the newer Sienna."

Anonymous, WV (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Do not trade-- if not in a hurry"

Anonymous, PA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Having AWD is a great benefit, that allows me to have the space of a minivan and driveability if an suv."

Anonymous, NJ (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Good lease for 3 years. Drove out on same day from dealer. Shopped last day of month and last day of quarter, June30"

SEAN M., NY (2016 Toyota Sienna)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"Plenty of room in the back with the rear seats up or down."

FRANK T., NY (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"Not enough room on the left side between the driver's seat & the door. Console compartment and storage compartments are not as good as the 2007. Center seat (2nd row) does not fold up."

Anonymous, FL (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"There is no center console between the front seats. that is inconvenient."

PAT G., LA (2016 Toyota Sienna)

"I previously had a fully loaded Sienna. The storage and layout of front panel is not as good."
