Jane Manweiler is an experienced data-driven researcher and survey methodologist. As a Senior Research Associate at Consumer Reports, she is a lead contributor to the American Experiences Survey, CR’s monthly nationally representative omnibus, that touches on a variety of issues facing consumers today. Some additional topics of focus include furniture tip-overs, student debt, and water safety.
Jane is actively involved in research through all stages: identification of key metrics for stakeholders, project design and implementation, quantitative and qualitative analysis, data visualization, and dissemination. Prior to joining CR, she was a program evaluator at Yale University in the Center for Teaching and Learning.
Jane has worked in data science and assessment since 2008, including roles in K-12 education at the SERVE Center at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (formerly the Regional Educational Laboratory for the Southeast), and in public health at the March of Dimes Foundation. Jane holds a Master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Educational Psychology, Measurement, and Evaluation, and a Certificate in Survey Methodology through the Odum Institute at UNC.
