Melanie Pinola is a Senior Writer and Editor covering Tech and Privacy at Consumer Reports, with an additional focus on smartphones and cell phone plans.
Prior to joining CR, Melanie was a senior staff writer at Wirecutter, and before that the managing editor at Zapier, a SaaS company. She has written for a variety of well-known publications, including The New York Times, Lifehacker, PCWorld, Popular Mechanics, Laptop Magazine, and ITWorld.
Melanie holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Queens College. She is currently a Master’s degree candidate at Harvard University Extension School, studying Creative Writing and Literature. When Melanie’s not writing for work or for fun, she enjoys cooking, playing video games with her family, and painting.
