An award-winning, multiplatform content strategist and journalist, Gwendolyn (Wendy) Bounds joined CR in 2014. As CR's Vice President and Chief Content Officer, Wendy oversees the brand’s editorial strategy and content creation for all print and digital products, including Consumer Reports magazine, websites, social media channels, and video/TV business.
Before joining CR, Wendy held a variety of editorial leadership positions at The Wall Street Journal, including managing editor of its video operations, and editor and writer across WSJ’s platforms. She helped launch several new editorial franchises while at WSJ and also served as an on-air host for the brand both on its own channels and as a regular contributor to CNBC and ABC News.
While at WSJ, Wendy honed her consumer-product chops through the multimedia column “About the House,” which left her equally deft at handling everything from a chain saw to a snow blower and led to the installation of solar hot-water panels on her roof.
Wendy is also author of the critically praised nonfiction book, "Little Chapel on the River: A Pub, a Town and the Search for What Matters Most.” Her volunteer work includes serving as an advisory board member for the Constitution Marsh Audubon Center & Sanctuary and for the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Media & Journalism, where she earned her B.A.
