Comment:
I Use 4 different brand air purifiers in different locations. I have had this unit about 18 months. It has had so little use that I have not had to clean the reusable filter. It started vibrating. When I opened ti I found the plastic center column that holds the whole unit together was cracked. It looked like Jigsaw puzzle pieces like broken safety glass. This is obviously a materials failure.

Comment:
Someone in the house has bad alergies to Polin and ragweed. I Bought this product to help clean the air in the living room and bedrooms.

I have never owned a purifier before but I found the product worked quite well. The fan really circulates the air in the room well.

The handle made it easy to carry for me and I didn't find the 50250 too heavy to carry. I am about 6 feet tall to give you an idea about my size.

The unit has a larger footprint than other air purifiers I have seen and it's round shape may make it difficult to find a good place for some houses but at the same time it's shape and design make it seem to work better; it brings in air from all directions.

The 2 things I didn't like about the Honeywell 50250 was the noise and the lack of a timer. I found it very loud even on it's lowest setting. On the medium setting (recommened setting for the daytime) I would have to speak louder or turn up the volume on the TV.
In the end I returned the device after 1 week because it was too loud. I exchanged it for a smaller less powerful unit that generates less noise and provide very good coverage in bedrooms and living room.
After exchanging the 50250 for a smaller unit that had a timer, I found a timer quite a useful feature.

If the loud noise doesn't bother you or you have a large room I think this unit will perform well.

Comment:
I agree with reviewer Kyle Uhland - look for this model in thrift shops and spend between $7 and $15 for it. I have 3 of them, never spending more than $15 and I still buy them if the filters look fresh. A new filter can be pricey, but a a clean used one is worth the money. I have been using these for about 6 years and so far one has failed me - burned out motor. It was quickly replaced. I keep it on low at night and don't mind the white noise at all. Its simple and does the job.
