About - LG LSE3092ST

The LG LSE3092ST is part of the kitchen range test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, electric range models like the LSE3092ST are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Cooktop high:
This reflects how quickly the most powerful element could raise a 6-liter (6 1/3 quart) pot of water from room temperature to a near boil.

Cooktop low:
This reflects the ability of the lowest power element to melt and hold chocolate without scorching it. We also set the most powerful element to its lowest setting to test its ability to hold a large pot of tomato sauce below a boil.

Comment:
I use this range daily and it does a great job of most tasks I want to use if for. The oven heats up quickly and the true-convection is a dream. The warming drawer is a great feature that I frequently use to keep food warm as others finish cooking. The burners get so hot that 9 is more than enough to cook on & I only useMax to boil water or heat up cold soup from the fridge. Not having a backsplash is a minor problem, as that means having to clean the wall behind the range instead of the backsplash. However, I believe that there is a similar model that does have the backsplash with the controls mounted on it instead of the front edge.

On the down side, I have replaced the glass cooktop twice due to minor delaminations in the glass (they look like little silver bubbles). The service technician said it is very unusual in that he has never seen a problem like thisin all the years he has been serviceing ranges with glass cooktops I have also had to replace the stainless steel upper front edge due to tiny rust spotting (which shouldn't happen to stainless steel).
All repairs were covered under warranty, with no questions asked. :-)

Comment:
This oven looks great with its stainless steel finish and smooth cooking surface. The oven temperature is about 25 Deg F lower than displayed temperature. After the 1 year warranty expired we noticed that shortly after there were 3 out of 6 control knobs that appeared to be loose.Further inspection showed that these knobs are made out of plastic and were cracked/broken inside.Replacement price for the 3 knobs was about $150.

Comment:
The range worked very well until it went through a cleaning cycle. The motherboard has apparently failed and left the door locked. This occurred after less than three weeks of service.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
