About - Multi-Pure MP750SB

The Multi-Pure MP750SB is part of the water filter test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, water filter models like the MP750SB are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Lead removal:
Lead removal indicates the percentage of lead that was removed by each filter.

Chloroform removal:
Chloroform removal rates the percentage of chloroform removed. A filter's ability to remove chloroform predicts how well it will remove organic compounds as well as byproducts created by disinfectants used by water systems.

Flow rate:
Flow rate is how fast a gallon of water filtered through the cartridge. The criteria for flow rate scores differ between different types of filters. Faucet-mount, countertop, and undersink models have the same criterion; carafes and reverse osmosis models each have their own.

Multi Pure water filter warranty
Best Uses
We use it to filter drinking water and it works great. Filters are very pricey and under sink models can be a real chore to change but not complicated. The spigot you would assume is made of stainless and you would be wrong. I didn't use a magnet but it appears to be chrome plated steel and it rusted into inside the shut off on the sink. Called thing it really had a life time warranty and was told it just covered the canister. That's the only part that should last a life time, the spigot cost almost $60

BEST we've had, for our well water
Consistent Good Flow
Excellent performance
Price Ouch
Best Uses
We have well water with a pressure pump, and this is the 1st filter to DELIVER the flow as advertised. The quality of water is better than the filter which CR reported 6-7 years ago with aqua-something, which was terrible.

With iron, manganese and a touch of sulfur, even our back-flush, whole house filter needed help; THIS IS the one!! Our pressure fluctuates between 60 and 40 psi, and Multi-Pure delivers a vastly improved flow, meeting the advertised numbers. Had it one full year this month, installed it myself, and I'm NO handyman!

Leaked for us
Best Uses
We had this installed by our regular, very reliable and competent plumber. It worked great at first, but after about a week it started leaking at the big O-ring gasket that holds the top and bottom parts together. Our attempts to fix this following manufacturer recommendations were unsuccessful and frustrating, so we're returning it to the manufacturer. Will try a different brand instead.
