By the Numbers: Vinyl remains a popular siding choice

Lots of Americans use vinyl siding.
Market share of vinyl siding in the U.S. in 2009, according to a study by market-research company the Freedonia Group, as reported by Home Channel News. Even as fiber-cement, stucco, and brick siding are expected to become more popular, sales of vinyl siding are projected to increase in the coming years as vinyl manufacturers add more colors and textures. Meanwhile, wood siding could see its market share slide as a result of concerns about its durability, according to the Freedonia Group.
