Off the wall: TV mounts recalled

Consumer Reports News: August 25, 2010 04:19 PM

Milestone AV Technologies is recalling 131,000 wall mounts for flat screen TVs because the components don’t fit together properly and the TV could come tumbling down. The Sanus Vision Mount model LF228-B1 wall mounts and Simplicity model SLF2 were sold from June 2009 through July 2010, the former through independent dealers and the latter through Costco.

The model numbers can be found on the UL sticker on the wall plate.

Milestone wants consumers to inspect their wall mounts, following the company’s multi-page instructions. For more information, call the company at (877) 894-6280.

This isn’t the first recall of wall mounts from this company; In January 2009 it pulled back 140,000 INIT models NT-TVM103 and NT-TVM104 units sold through Best Buy because the wall mount could crack. At the time of the recall the company had received 28 reports of incidents.
