When looking to find a great price by shopping yard sales or searching online, be careful not to end up with a recalled item that is a safety hazard to you or your children. Don Mays, our product safety director, points out the following types of products to avoid buying used, because of their potential safety hazards.
Do not buy used:
If you want to find out whether a used product is a safety hazard you can find more information on the CPSC's website. You can also check out our website www.clickcheckprotect.org, and sign up for recall and safety alerts about child products to be sent directly to your mobile phone. If you experience a safety hazard with a consumer product, you can report the hazard to the CPSC at www.saferproducts.gov.
