Bluetooth and Smart Speakers
Sony SRS-XB23 Bluetooth Speaker
This speaker has fewer bells and whistles than the company’s previous offerings but performs its primary function of playing music admirably. The low bass is a bit shy, and the midrange lacks some of the clarity of the very best portables, but on balance, the Sony’s sound is satisfying.

Nautilus E616 Elliptical
This is one of the lower-priced models among the ellipticals with heart rate programs we tested. (A heart rate program automatically adjusts the intensity of the workout based on a target heart rate.) But our testers say it packs a lot of features and has a solid construction. It has 25 resistance levels and 11 incline levels. The controls are easy to use during exercise.

Nautilus T616 Treadmill
A folding treadmill like this model from Nautilus is a space saver. Overall, this one performs well in CR’s tests; it’s sturdy, durable, and easy to use. It comes with a chest-strap heart rate monitor.

ProForm Carbon T10 Treadmill
There’s plenty to like about this folding treadmill in terms of ergonomics and ease of use. It gets lower scores in CR’s tests for construction, which factor in aspects such as the motor and related components, running deck, and the results of our durability tests.

Schwinn 470 Elliptical
This is one of the lower-priced models among the ellipticals with heart rate programs we test. (A heart rate program automatically adjusts the intensity of the workout based on a target heart rate.) The hand-contact heart rate sensors on the stationary handgrips are a little low for a taller user to reach comfortably, and they were unreliable during our testing. If heart rate programs are important to you, purchasing a compatible chest-strap monitor will improve both convenience and accuracy.

JLab Audio JBuds Air True Wireless Earphones
Even at full price, the JLab Audio JBuds Air earphones deliver impressive sound quality for the money, beating some competitors that cost more than three times as much. They earn a spot in CR’s picks for the best true wireless headphones of 2021. So when you can save 30 percent, it’s an even bigger bargain.
The JBuds Air have an advertised 3.5-hour battery life and come with a carrying case that will recharge the earphones for an additional two cycles. Other features include support for various digital assistants, three switchable EQ modes to change the tonal balance of the sound, and, according to JLab, water resistance. (We don’t test that feature.)

Samsung Galaxy Buds True Wireless Earphones
The Galaxy Buds are among the best true wireless headphones CR has tested, and the sale price has just dropped an additional $14, making this a truly great bargain. The model produces exemplary audio quality packed into a pair of unobtrusive earpieces, complete with easy-to-use touch controls for playback, volume, and skipping tracks.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy Buds have a 6-hour battery life. They come with a powered carrying case that will recharge the earphones for up to 7 additional hours of playback on the go.

Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 Beard Trimmer
This easy-to-clean trimmer gets high marks in our user tests. It works well cutting through coarse beard hair, it’s small enough for travel, and it’s simple to use once you get past the somewhat difficult-to-follow setup instructions.

LG Side-by-Side Refrigerator
We spotted a handful of side-by-sides on sale, but this LG LSXS26326S had the winning combination of the lowest price and the best performance in our lab tests. It receives high marks in all our tests, including temperature uniformity, ease of use, and energy efficiency. It features a stainless steel finish, a through-the-door water/ice dispenser, an icemaker, a built-in water filter, and digital controls.

Maytag Electric Clothes Dryer
This loaded Maytag is one of the quietest models—it could lull a baby to sleep—and offers superior drying performance, comparable to the MEDB955FW. This model, recommended by CR, has a stainless steel drum, custom programs, a drying rack, a moisture sensor, and a steam option. It’s Energy Star certified.

Samsung Single-Oven Electric Smoothtop Range
It’s tough to find a range with so many features at this price, particularly one that performs as well as this Samsung. In addition to strong performance in our tests, this model has two high-powered burners, a rarity in this price range, as well as a convection oven. Best of all, you’ll score it for around $250 off the regular price, which is the lowest price we’ve seen on it in the past year or so.

Whirlpool Top-Freezer Refrigerator
It’s rare to find a good-quality top-freezer for less than $500, which makes this stainless-steel Whirlpool WRT112CZJZ a steal. It’s a top performer in our tests, receiving high marks for its temperature uniformity, thermostat control, and low noise output. The only drawback is that it’s on the small side at just 24 inches wide. Still, if you want an affordable fridge that’s built to last, this deal is a no-brainer.

TCL 75-Inch 4K QLED Roku TV
If you’re in the market for an extra-large TV that performs well, this TCL model may be a good choice. It’s one of the lowest-cost options right now, largely because it’s a previous-year model. Among large-screen TVs under $2,000, this one has standout scores for overall picture quality and HDR performance.

Vacuums and Robotic Vacuums
iRobot Roomba e5 Robotic Vacuum
This high-scoring model usually costs $350. At $300, it’s not quite a steal, but it’s still a good deal, and we haven’t seen it dip any lower since the holiday season. This Roomba isn’t as “smart” as iRobot’s more advanced Roomba i7+ and S9+, but it performs well cleaning carpet and bare floors. It’s also a champ at navigating a room, then returning to its base for recharging. It has a convenient carrying handle. If you prefer a model with a remote, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
