Jose Carbonell Joins Consumer Reports as Chief Marketing Officer

YONKERS, NY – Consumer Reports (CR), the consumer research, testing, and advocacy organization, announced today that Jose Carbonell will join CR as its Chief Marketing Officer. A key member of CR’s leadership team, Carbonell will be responsible for leading marketing strategies across all platforms to help expand CR’s reach and impact.

Carbonell is a strategic leader and digital innovator with years of experience driving growth at national nonprofits and commercial brands. He comes to CR from Stamford Health, where he used his marketing skills to make a difference in health care as executive director of marketing and communications.

Previously, Carbonell served as Chief Marketing Officer at the National Audubon Society, where he doubled direct response revenue, doubled membership, and developed an innovative new target audience and brand strategy. Before that, Carbonell was the senior vice president of marketing and communications at UNICEF USA, where he developed and launched a new brand positioning campaign and delivered the organization’s highest digital fundraising revenue for two consecutive years. He also has experience across a number of consumer-facing brands, such as Nickelodeon, French’s Foods, Toys “R” Us, Welch’s, and Maxwell House.

Carbonell starts in the role in July 2022 and succeeds Lauren Stanich, who was recently named CR’s Chief Membership Officer.

Carbonell earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and his Master’s in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
