Every year our expert testers bake dozens of cakes and hundreds of cookies to test how well electric wall ovens perform. In addition, to see whether these appliances hold up over time, we ask thousands of CR members to provide details on problems their wall ovens had and tell us how satisfied they are overall with their appliance.
We asked members about their experiences with 22,880 electric wall ovens they bought between 2011 and 2021, collecting data we use to calculate predicted reliability and owner satisfaction ratings. Predicted reliability reflects the likelihood that models from a given brand will develop problems or break within the first five years. Owner satisfaction reflects the percentage of members who said they would recommend their wall oven.
