I purchased Bosch dishwasher, she68r52uc/69 in Jan 2013. The frontal panel first did not function after a year, now the dishes are not getting cleaned after a little more than two years; likely the main pump is no longer working. It is a horrible experience. The replaced dishwashers from GE, and whirlpool lasted ten, twenty, and thirty years without any problems (from three residences). I purchased the dishwashers based on the rating of consumer reports. Hopefully, my feedback can help you to a better job in the future.

Comment:
I purchased this model based upon CR review and the need to fit beneath a shallow kitchen counter (normal depth machines would not fit). We have hard water.<br /><br />The dish racks allow for tight packing of dishes, so tight the sprayed water cannot hit the dish surfaces with enough force to clean properly. Unless dishes are wiped with a damp sponge prior to racking, they will come out dirty and with heated on food (drying is a function of a final rinse with very hot water; hence the 'bake on' of food).<br /><br />Bosch advertises and specifies a high pressure cycle that comes on when needed and shows up as an indicator light. This does not happen, even when one 'spikes' the machine with coffee grounds, flour, black pepper, and tomato sauce. Bosch repair guy could not explain.<br /><br />Unless you have soft water, you can rely upon finding glasses and glass dishes coated with mineral film. Again, a result of the high temp water drying process.<br /><br />Bosch repair service and customer service is the only aspect of the purchase that was worse than the purchase.<br /><br />If one needs a shallow machine, perhaps replace the counter tops or a Miele machine with onboard water softener. Or better yet, repair what you have. . .it will be far better than Bosch.

Comment:
This dishwasher cleans really well. My initial reviews were great and I highly recommended this product. But should an appliance in the $900 price range have function buttons whose labels wear off after 15 months of use? While new, this dishwasher was very quiet, but recently the drain pump is humming loudly. This was our first Bosch appliance and I'm having some difficulty imagining this dishwasher lasting 12 years at the rate things are declining. Bosch reliability may be no better than the other brands and not worth the gamble.
