Comment:
I was very excited when this machine came on the market as I am a great fan of Breville products, and even more interested after reading how highly it was rated. Unfortunately, while it's fine for light usage such as cookie doughs, it's terrible when making yeasted bread doughs that require lengthy beating (such as when adding butter to make brioche). There is a timer on the machine that turns it off at 9:59 minutes, requiring that the user turn off the machine and turn it on again (spoke to manufacturer and they say it's to keep the motor from overheating); it gets very hot if you need a longer mixing time. I do, however, like that the head can be lifted up to provide greater access to the bowl, and I love the scraping function on one of the leaf attachments.

Comment:
After 15 years with a Kitchenaid 600, I ordered this one based on CR rating. I received it yesterday, mixed up one batch of challah dough. Kneaded for 3 minutes, shut it off. Added flour as dough was sticky, turned it back on for another 3 minutes and by the end smoke was coming out the front vent. Breville offered to replace it. I returned it and opted for 7qt Kitchenaid. I make a lot of bread, some stiff, some not, but I don't want to worry.
It was great for a cake batter, quiet too.
I would recommend for cake and the like.
