I probably would not reccomend to a friend , or tell them to make sure that there is a shark dealer close to home. I was given a shark nv501 and tolally love the way it performs but the red latch that holds the hose connected to the unit popped out and when I called to get if fixed, I was told that under the warranty I would have to have it shipped to N.C. and take about 6 to 8 weeks to service. I then pay the warranty to send back to me for $19.99. I was also given an option to buy a brand new one - I asked if it was rebuilt and was told no.
The new one would cost around $79 dollars which left me dumbfounded as my son purchased this as a gift for me and I can't see me purchasing another and I feel like 79 bucks now is all it's worth. Very upsetting , I guess I will just duct tape the hose to unit.
Just don't purchase warranty as it is a waste of money. The vaccum is great when the hose stays attached, why can't I purchase a latch to hold the hose in??????????????????????????????????????
betsy
