Audi A7 Overview
This hatchback version of the A6 sacrifices some comfort, access, rear-seat room, and visibility for sportiness and looks. The 3.0-liter diesel we tested was subdued and powerful, and returned 28 mpg overall. The interior is very luxurious, but the controls take some time to master. A mid-cycle freshening brought tweaks to nearly every engine. The 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 is good for 333 hp while the 4.0-liter V8 in the S7 makes do with 450 hp and the RS 7's engine make 560 hp. The diesel engine remains unchanged. In addition to the front and rear end nip and tuck, Audi says the windows are now double-glazed for better noise isolation.
