About - Baby Trend Snap N Go

The Baby Trend Snap N Go is part of the stroller test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, traditional stroller models like the Snap N Go are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Ease of use:
Ease of use is based primarily on ease of using and adjusting the safety harness, folding and unfolding, adjusting backrest, lifting and carrying, engaging wheel brakes and car seat removal and installation (only for compatible strollers).

Maneuverability:
Maneuverability is assessed by trained staffers on how well the strollers maneuvered S-turns through cones, narrow sections, grass, dirt trails, uphill, downhill and curbs while walking.

Safety:
Safety is assessed by testing for compliance with the most current version of the standard, ASTM F833-11, and stability and usage tests designed by Consumers Union.

Comment:
This is a great design, but poor workmanship. The lock on the handle did not work properly. Baby Trend customer service promised to send a replacement part, but it was taking for ever to get the part. The display strollers at Babies-r-us too were defective. Babies-r-us store customer service offered approximately a $20.00 rebate and suggested exchanging the stroller. After checking a few managed to locate a defect free stroller. [...]

Comment:
This is a great solution if you have the right carseat for those first few months after the baby arrives. We had two Chicco Keyfit 30 carseats, which the company verified would work with the stroller. However, the newest Keyfit 30 carseats do not fit this stroller. Customer service at BabyTrend was subpar when trying to resolve this issue. We had to return it and find a new stroller.

Comment:
This is a really nice stroller! I use this stroller to grocery shop. The basket underneath is very sturdy and holds a lot. It is also very comfortable for baby and me when walking on a paved trail. The ride is smooth and feels sturdy. I love that I can pop the car seat into it easily. Sometimes I have to move the seat belt on the back of the car seat in order for it to pop in correctly-fyi. We also used this for air travel and it worked really great. I have a small car trunk and it fits perfectly in there. I'm very happy with this stroller and highly recommend it.

Great Stroller Overall for Twins
01/08/2012
Strength
Easy to manipulate through stores; lightweight; nice storage underneath; folds easily and extremely flat when folded
Weakness
Finding a car seat that fits
We have heard other people say that they didnt like this stroller, but we loved having this when our twins were young! You can take it into stores easily, (trust me, the ones where the twins sit next to each other are EXTREMELY hard to take to stores b/c you dont fit in the aisles!). Someone gave us the base, so we needed to find new carseats. All Babytrends fit nicely, but we did notice that not all brands fit. We actually took the stroller into the stores and used the carseats on display to see if they would fit. We found that Evenflo worked nicely and they are affordable (with twins things can get expensive!). The only thing we noticed was with the back seat, you had to actually push the snap into place, whereas in the front it snapped on its own. If you had a babytrend one, it would automatically snap into place. To us, this wasnt a big deal at all b/c the carseats were so affordable, and we were such big fans of the stroller base!

Must-have for twin parents who want to be on-the-go
06/02/2010
Strength
Folds to compact size, easy to unfold, easy to get carseats in and out of it, can steer with one hand, narrow enough to fit through any passageway or aisle. Underneath basket is roomy.
Weakness
Wheels kinda cheap (so suspension, so babies feel every bump). Front-most baby sits at kind of awkward angle (baby nearest handlebar lays with head lower). Still, I love this thing.
Have used it daily for 4 months. Initially I thought it felt kinda cheap in the hand and I wa s a little doubtful as to whether it'd hold up. I figured we'd use it for just very short distances (from parkinglot into stores, etc.) but in the end I've used it even for longer distances and babies have been comfortable. It *does* attract lots of stares since it's an interesting contraption but boy is it handy. It has made it so easy for me to get out and about with twins by myself. No bulk, easy to use, and away we go. I'll miss it when my babies grow out of it. We used Graco Snugride seats with it. For those wondering which other car seats it'll work with, you can find the product instructions online (google is your friend!) and they list explicitly what models of carseat will fit. Others might work, too, but you may need to jerry-rig it a bit.

Great Starter
02/03/2009
Strength
lightweight, easy fold, fits two graco snugride carseats (if follow directions for bar placement).
Weakness
huge basket underneath, but hard to get at once car seats are in place.
We are a military family stationed in Alaska. Didn't know when or where we would move after having the twins. (Also have a 2 year old). We were also having boy/girl twins. Didn't know how fast or different their weights would be. So, we did not want to commit to an expensive stroller. Thought this would be a great starter. For exactly that reason it has been wonderful. We also already had a snugride car seat from our first child and needed a stroller that worked with it. As long as you follow the directions in the manual it works perfect. I love this stroller (and how light it is). It also fits in the back of our Honda minivan with the third row up, and still room for groceries.
