The UPPAbaby G-Lite is part of the stroller
test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, traditional stroller
models like the G-Lite are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.
Ease of use:
Ease of use is based primarily on ease of using and adjusting the safety harness, folding and unfolding, adjusting backrest, lifting and carrying, engaging wheel brakes and car seat removal and installation (only for compatible strollers).
Maneuverability is assessed by trained staffers on how well the strollers maneuvered S-turns through cones, narrow sections, grass, dirt trails, uphill, downhill and curbs while walking.
Safety is assessed by testing for compliance with the most current version of the standard, ASTM F833-13, and stability and usage tests designed by Consumers Union.

Features & Specs - UPPAbaby G-Lite
5-pt harness Five-point harness secures child firmly. Unlike a three-point harness, it secures the upper body.
Suitable for 6 mos. and under Suitability for babies 6 months and younger means the stroller could include a safety flap at the child's feet so he or she doesn't slip out of a large leg hole, or some other means of containing a child of this age. Even with this added feature, the harness should still be used.
Suitable for 6 mos. and under
One-touch brakes One-touch brakes work quickly for added safety. They're also more convenient than standard brakes.
Adjustable handle An adjustable handle can accommodate parents of different heights.
Stands folded This is convenient in restaurants or other tight spaces. It also makes storing at home easier.
I bought it checking Consumer Reports. I was very happy to see the red stroller and my baby loved it too.

While crossing the streets in our NYC trip the stroller closed abruptly so many time that in the end we landed up leaving behind in hotel.
I returned it immediately after coming back.

May be its a general issue with Umbrella stroller

The local store was clearing these out at [$] - for the top-rated model! My kids grew up in one of the original Gracos that had no features. This is gorgeous and well-designed. [...] notes that 4-6 months old is the minimum age and you can see how the child fits (the manufacturer states 6 months or older). It is very easy to set up and use and it is much sturdier than the old umbrollers and nicer than others I saw this time. The lack of a recline feature is appropriate - this is meant to be light and simple and it really is not going to be like a bed anyway. For those who care, while Uppababy is in Massachusetts, this product is made in China. It is thoughtfully designed, attractive and plesant to use. The ratings make sense. Too bad there is so little information and no picture - CR should do better in explaining the basis of the selection. But they are correct. Thanks!

Love how lightweight the stroller is! It is very easy to open for use, as well as close when ready to put away. Parents

*Parents-- please make sure you lock the stroller open by hearing the click when stepping on the pedal that locks it to remain open, so that it doesn't collapse when your child sits in it.

My son has told me how comfy his stroller is, so I'm thrilled he enjoys being in it most of the time.

*Parents-- the safety latch harness belt to keep your toddler from falling out of the stroller is not toddler proof such as medicine caps. Any smart toddler can unlatch it, mine knows how, but he knows that it's also dangerous to unlatch himself if I haven't told him he can unlatch himself. It's not a product defect that a toddler may know how to unlatch & also latch the safety harness. Teach your child that he/she shouldn't unlatch himself/herself if not instructed to.
