We look for:

    Overall score is based on how well each of the stain removers cleaned our four stains of French dressing, spaghetti sauce, coffee, and red wine. The stains were applied to undyed, plush carpeting and allowed to set before cleaning. The carpet was not treated with stain repellent.
  • French Dressing
    French dressing is based on how well each of the stain removers cleaned french dressing.
  • Spaghetti sauce
    Spaghetti sauce is based on how well each of the stain removers cleaned spaghetti sauce.
  • Coffee

But sometimes you just need to clean up a few spills by hand. To test carpet stain removers, we poured specific amounts of wine, coffee, spaghetti sauce, and French dressing on untreated nylon carpet panels.
