Consumer Reports Autos Staff Bio

Liza Barth
Liza Barth

Web Associate Editor, Autos

Liza Barth has been at Consumer Reports since 2002, working as a Web associate editor in the fast-paced online group. Now a member of the autos team, Liza is a key player in maintaining, updating, and expanding the ConsumerReports.org cars content, from fine-tuning the machine to reporting on the latest news.

Liza started her career working in television production, but decided to go back to school to earn a master's degree in multimedia and Web design. Before joining CR, Liza produced and managed content on other Web sites, including Fuji Photo Film, Lillian Vernon, and a local cable news network.

Some of Liza's most vivid memories of automobiles were as a young child when she would often get carsick on vacation sitting on the floor hump in the back seat of the family car. She learned to drive on her dad's Toyota Tercel and bravely admits to failing her first driver's test. Much has improved since then; Liza now enjoys cruising around on country roads in and around the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area in her Toyota Corolla, named Yoshi, with her husband and young son, who tends to fall asleep in the back seat thanks to her smooth driving skills.

Liza's auto interests include fuel economy, safety, and checking out the latest vehicles.
