Dodge Ram 1500 Overview

The Ram 1500's coil-spring rear suspension delivers a very good ride for a full-sized truck. The 5.7-liter V8 has plenty of power and a subdued, pleasant sound. Handling is secure. Interior quality and comfort are good, with a roomy rear seat in the quiet cabin. Curtain air bags are standard. The optional Ram Box provides storage alongside the bed but takes up some bed width. Reliability has been average. A revamped Ram with an eight-speed automatic is new for 2013. The base version gets Chrysler's 3.6-liter V6, and a diesel version will be available in the Fall.
