Comment:
With WiFi being available in so many places, I was looking for a tablet that would allow me to check e-mail, the weather radar, and maybe doing some online shopping. There are lots of expensive tablets available but the Kindle Fire sells everywhere for the same low price, about one half of the competition. It handles everything I've thrown at it including YouTube videos and flash content. The built in speakers are very tiny and almost inaudible but there's a headphone/ear-bud port. I was pleased to note that the Kindle uses the exact same charger that my smartphone uses. One of my Cons mentions tiny Icons. The screen uses capacitive touch to access content. Some of the Icons presented are difficult to tap with your finger without accessing the ones located right next to each other. Kindle dealers sell capacitive scribes and I'll likely buy one in the next week. I can plug the Kindle into my phones car charger, same voltage (5 VDC) and plug (micro USB). For simple Internet surfing this is the perfect choice and the price is right too.
