About This Brand

Samsung is a market leader and top-tier TV manufacturer. It is often an innovator, as with its use of LED backlighting in LCD TVs, and was one of the first TV brands to offer 3D TVs and Smart TVs. Samsung offers a wide range of LCD TVs and is one of only a few brands that still sells plasma TVs. Its TVs are distributed widely in national and regional retailers, and in mass-market and discount outlets. In addition to LCD and plasma TVs, Samsung also sells DLP-based home theater front projectors.

Comment:
Despite endless telephone exchanges with both Samsung and Netflix, unable to get Netflix working on this TV. Also bought a 3D Samsung smart Bluray player, and Netflix doesn't work on it either. Purchased a $99 LG Bluray, and finally I can watch Netflix on this otherwise excellent plasma TV. Would recommend opting for a non-smart TV from this brand.

Comment:
We upgraded our 60 Sony rear projection to this 60 plasma with 3D and Smart Hub. The picture is amazing on cable, blu ray and especially 3D. We are returning the TV because it costs about $1000 extra for the Smart Hub and it is terrible. The smart hub wouldn't work the 2nd day we had the TV. It took 45 minutes to finally tell us it needed to update. It deleted 4 of the 8 apps we had downloaded in the 1st update. Then it said it needed to update again and it deleted the other 4 apps. I went online to register a credit card and the website had bad links several times. Then it kept telling me my card number was wrong. Turns out the samsung apps store doesn't take AMEX. (Wish it had told me that somewhere.) When I try to download apps that cost something I get a Network interference error code 02 from the smart hub but I can download free apps all I want. Samsung is not ready for apps on their TVs. In addition, I tried to share my Samsung phone with the TV. Took several times and finally got it to work. Turns out you can't run your phone apps on the TV. You just get to put your photos and videos on the TV. Not nearly as useful and quite a pain to setup and get it to work.

Great TV! I have no problems with buzz

Comment:
I have no problems connecting to NetFix, I have Bose Home Sound System and I do not hear a buzz of any kind. Have great access to internet via my cable provider. WIFI works well. I think that because of regional cable service and quality is the reason for some owner problem. And as far as the buzz, I have friends who have expensive equipment and have serious sound problems, ande I hqave friends who moderately priced sound systems who have no problems. Go figure!
