CR Model Summary
The second-generation Edge is based on a platform shared with the commendable Fusion sedan, and is a huge improvement over the outgoing model. Our tested 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder is sufficiently quick and impressively refined. A 3.5-liter V6 and a 2.7-liter turbo V6 are also offered. All three engines are teamed with a six-speed automatic. The Edge is agile and fun to drive for an SUV, with a comfortable ride. Inside it's roomy and very quiet, and the large sunroof and power rear tailgate are nice touches. Available features include blind-spot monitors, forward and backup cameras, cross-traffic alert, and active park assist.
