CR Model Summary
The second-generation Edge is based on a platform shared with the commendable current-generation Fusion sedan, and should be a huge improvement over the outgoing model. Early impressions indicate the Edge is agile, comfortable riding, roomy, and very quiet. It's available with three engines: the standard 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, a carryover 3.5-liter V6, and a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6. All three are teamed with a six-speed automatic. Auto start/stop is available to help improve fuel economy. Other available features include blind-spot monitors; forward and backup cameras; cross-traffic alert; and active park assist.
