Ford Mustang Overview

Ford's Mustang is a modern package with an independent rear suspension. Base models use a 300-hp, 3.7-liter V6, but the 310-hp, 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder delivers some punch but sounds raspy. The GT version comes with a 5.0-liter V8. We found the slick six-speed manual particularly satisfying, and the automatic works well. Coupe and convertible body styles are available, but the convertible uses an annoying manual latch to secure the top. Handling is agile and balanced, and the firm ride is tied down. The MyFord Touch system takes some getting used to, but has comprehensive connectivity. In addition to fun, technology brings blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert.
