CES 2013: Ultra HD TVs, "Cloud" TVs in Toshiba's future

Toshiba hit CES this week with the news that it will offer its Ultra HD TVs this year. It will also offer new sets it calls Cloud TVs that can access the company's servers to provide expanded capabilities and future updates to its interface and services. There will also be ways to share content with the new TVs from portable devices, including those from WiDi and Miracast Technologies.

This year, the company says, it will expand the range of screen sizes it offers to include LCD TVs with 58-, 65-, and 84 inches. These largest screen sizes will be offered in its new flagship L9300 line and the new Ultra HD sets. The latter will include what Toshiba calls its Cevo hexcore processor for both video processing and upscaling 1080p content to near 4K resolution.

Toshiba's Ultra HD TVs are expected to arrive this summer, with prices still to be determined.
